Posted Friday May 01, 2009, About: Forbes: MLB's top rivalry is...
LA and the Giants? Get serious, we are talking about baseball fans in LA that are notorious for leaving by the 7th inning. No Yankee or Red Sox fan leaves a game until the tarp is on the infield and the beer taps are shut down for heaven's sake. Just ignorant!
Posted Thursday February 12, 2009, About: Joba: Yankees are AL East's best
Jeter should take this jerk by the scruff of the neck and beat him about the head and shoulders. If Jeter, Rivera or Posada were making such statements it would carry some weight as they have DONE something. Joba hasn't accomplished a thing of note yet and is probably the last guy the Vets want out their speaking for the Yankee players.

Reminds me of Nuke Laloosh as per Crash Davis, a million dollar arm and a 5 cent head!
Posted Wednesday January 14, 2009, About: Yankees president slams politicians
If I were a NY tax payer, I would be happy my elected officials are requiring the Yankees to be accountable and justify the use of taxpayer funds. Personally, I would never support the use of tax money or public resources for private ventures. As much as franchises spout off about there benifit to the community in which they reside, research has proven that it isn't nearly as advantageous as they would have you believe. If I open a business in the bronx, will the local government pay for the building in which I intend to run my business? H.E.L.L. no they won't. How is it that the richest franchise in all of US sports needs help form tax payers to operate? Here is an idea, when a public building project runs over the alloted funds for the project, tyere are cuts made in the prject itself? Maybe some self important exec doesn't need an office that is 2000 square feet?

Maybe he doesn't have an alcohol problem but he certainly has a "character" problem.
Posted Tuesday October 28, 2008, About: Al Sharpton calls Plaxico column 'racist'
Did Sharpton "intend" to pressure and influence the local authorities in Durham to press charges against the Duke Lacrosse players and ruin several young lives before the truth could be determined? It isn't about right and wrong with this wart on society's backside, it is about black and white and/or what get's him a little press. How about the teenage runaway that smeared herself with feces years back and claimed she was raped. When the local authorities balked at her story, he jumped all over them claiming that they didn't care about her because she was black. NO, they questioned her story because it was shakey and guess what...she was lying. Sharpton won't be happy until this journalist is fired and disgraced when all that should happen is for the writer to simply apologize for the unfortunate choice of words and promise to be more careful in the future. But that would be the rational and fair thing to do wouldn't it?
Posted Tuesday October 21, 2008, About: Red Sox discuss bidding on Teixeira
Thanks for the career advice but I am quite happy with my current employment. That being a baseball coach at a D-1 University that has a .656 winning %, 2 conference championships and 3 NCAA bids since I have been here. Should that fail me, I have a Masters in U.S. History and a teaching certificate. I'll be just fine jackass!
Posted Tuesday October 21, 2008, About: Red Sox discuss bidding on Teixeira
What Free agents are you referring too?
Let's look at their line-up
Youk, Pedroia, Tek, Masterson, Pap, Lester, Elsbury, Delcarmen, Lowrie - Farm System
Beckett, Lowell, Crisp, Bay - Trades
Drew, Matsuzaka - Free Agents
Big Papi - Waiver Wire

TWO major players came via free agency. I would bet that most teams include more major free agents than do the Sox.

How about having a clue what you are talking about?
Posted Tuesday April 29, 2008, About: McCready confirms Rocket affair
Here is a little tidbit from Tennessee State Law:

(c) Aggravated statutory rape is the unlawful sexual penetration of a victim by the defendant, or of the defendant by the victim when the victim is at least thirteen (13) but less than eighteen (18) years of age and the defendant is at least ten (10) years older than the victim.

Aggravated statutory rape is a Class D felony which is punishable by a sentence of 2 to 4 years!

I wonder how soon it will be befire Debbie Clemens kicks his butt to the curb? First he throws her under the bus in front of a Congressional hearing and now this? Thanks Roger. If nothing else, when our wives accuse us of being jerks, we have you to point to for vindication!
Posted Monday April 28, 2008, About: Report: Clemens had affair with singer
"Who hasn't had an affair with with Mindy, she has absorbed more semen than toilet paper. This is BS."

The number of lovers Mindy may, or may not have had is irrelevant. The issue here is Clemens and his reputation or lack there of. Like I said before, if you sue for defammation, that is EXACTLY what you will get. Let's break down your statement and apply it to real life. You go home to your wife after she has read in the papaer about your alleged affair with some woman/girl and you answer by saying, "but honey, she's absorbed more semen that toilet paper!" LOL Now we go from the movie "FROM ROGER MET MINDY" to yet a new flick starring Roger and Debbie called "CLEMENS VS CLEMENS."
Posted Monday April 28, 2008, About: Report: Clemens had affair with singer
You want to guarantee your character will be assasinated?? Then file a defammation suit! What a moron! Just a little research and a good lawyer and he should have known that in such a trial, your character IS on trial as well! Your character has to be beyond reproach for it to be defamed! Whomever is giving RC advice must be having a great time taking his money and leading him in the wrong direction at every step. Turn back the clock, give me a million bucks and here is the game lan Roger. 1. SHUT UP, do not debate McNamee in the press or file a suit. 2. Take the fifth in front of Congress 3. Pull a Pettitte by admitting some steroid use but don't be too specific.
If he done this, the story would have died just as Pettites did! At this point, he has brought this ALL upon himself.

Ellsbury is over-rated??

Let's see the guy is not only still learning to be a Major Leaguer but a lead-off hitter as well. His batting average is only .256 as of yet however he is in the top 20 in MLB in bases on balls and OBP despite the low average. He is yet to be caught stealing in the majors, has blazing speed and plays great defense. Yea you are right, he sucks! We should trade him right away!
Posted Wednesday March 19, 2008, About: Hitch in Red Sox Japan trip
This isn't a Yankees/Red Sox issue. I wouldn't view this any differently no matter what team was involved. You pay millionaires 40K for making the trip yet stiff the coaches and staff?
Posted Wednesday March 12, 2008, About: Coach K reacts to ribbon jab
As a life long UNC fan I think this is a non-story and stupid. By definition I hate Duke and Coach K annoys me to no end however, he is by all accounts a stand-up guy and doesn't need a stupid ribbon to show compassion. It sounds like he did all the right things as usual and I agree with his sentiment, "shame on you," to whomever is responsible for this story. In fact, making this a story is more disrespectful to the memory of this young lady than someone not wearing a stupid ribbon. Let's put this crap aside and lace 'em up. Tomorrow the ACC tournament begins and I would be willing to bet that Eve Carson would be all about her classmates healing the hurt by cheering the Heels!
Rest in Peace Eve, you have permanent court side seats now!
Posted Tuesday February 19, 2008, About: Steinbrenner: Red Sox guilty too
The first thing that comes to mind are the idiots and Yankee apologist that whine about Senator Mitchell and suggest he has been dishonest because of his relationship to the Red Sox and the lack of Sox players on the list. If you took any time at all to read the report you would know that he stated that his list doesn't begin to scratch the surface of guilty players, these are just the names that surfaced with the evidence available to him, mostly through Balco and other sources that were already caught by authorities. MLB has no authority to run it's own criminal investigation and certainly can not investigate anyone outside of MLB. Senator Mitchel was chosen precisely due to his reputation for honesty and integrity. Are there guilty Red Sox players? Of course. they just caught a break for the time being. I personally applaud Andy Pettitte for stepping up and taking responsibility for his own actions and would NOT boo or harass him at all for this whole mess. Too bad Roger didn't take a page from Andy's book and show a little integrity himself. As for Hank Steinbrenner, how stupid can he be? When the Sox and Yanks play, everything is in play and if a player makes a gaff of any sort, he is going to hear about it. Giambi took it like a man and so did Wade Boggs from the Yankee fans when his adultry case came to light back in the 80's. It comes with the territory. Pettitte's a big boy, he will deal with it.
Posted Thursday February 07, 2008, About: Sickening video of Pedro at cockfight
I think it is disgusting and think that cruelty to animals is just that and it doesn't matter what animal is being tortured. Yes, we eat chickens but that is totally different than torturing them to death. IF Pedro or anyone e4lse finds this practice entertaining, I personally have an issue with them.

That said, the difference in this case and Vick is that no laws were broken. While I or other fans may hold him in comtempt for this, he isn't a criminal. It is also true that MLB would be a shakey ground if they decide to make this an issue because of the culture issue.

I can only say that I am disappointed and am no longer a fan but I doubt that Pedro will care very much unless quite a few others feel the same way and he feels the displeasure in his wallet and is booed!
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Ravens' Rolle: Official called me 'boy'
"I'm calling my agent" sure sounds allot like "I'm tellin' my mommy" to me!

Which of course something a "boy" might say. A grown man, walks away from such a comment and doesn't give it any credence. By throwing a tantrum, he makes the guy sound correct. He could have walked away and if the comment was that offensive to him, kept his mouth shut and filed his grievance!
Posted Tuesday December 04, 2007, About: Moss likes Brady's loyalty
I can not believe you said that Loki124.

You show yourself to be about as ignorant and stupid as one can be.
You do not deserve to live under the umbrella of freedom that our brave men and women in uniform provide you. Let me guess, you will comeback with "freedom of speech!" You will be correct, you have every right to say what you like. Another right those men and women provided you with their sacrifice and blood!

I'm not ignoring Sulldogg's comments, I am currently busy praying, doing a few hail marys, kneeling facing east toward mecca and anything else I can think of that might get a diety somewhere to help this along!
Posted Wednesday November 28, 2007, About: What Twins want for Santana
Of course I would like to see Santana in Fenway. The price will be very high for either team and the Twins know that both the Sox and Yanks will do almost anything to keep him away from the other. I am just saying that seeing Santana go elsewhere and watching all these young players come along would be fun to watch as well. It isn't as if both teams are destitute and won't make the playoffs without him. Both have plenty of veterans to help bring along the young players while also competing for championships.
Posted Wednesday November 28, 2007, About: What Twins want for Santana
I agree with you hyperRevue,
Even as a Sox fan, I would prefer to see Santana in a Dodgers uniform and be able to watch both the Sox and Yanks develop the great young talent they have put together.
The rivalry is stoked when you are competing with homegrown talent versus a myriad of hired guns.
