Don't forget the Red Sox version of Pavano, Matt Clement. However the Zito deal is far and away the worst. I don't think any of these other guys mentioned are even in the same league as the Zito deal. Zito has far more years and money than any of the other deals. Zito would actually be helping the Giants if he got hurt for the rest of the years.

The story was on national TV everywhere. You're right. But why didn't Fan Nation run a story about it? This is supposed to be a summary of everythign going on in baseball isn't it? If there's room for a story about a guy getting an SUV there's room for a story about Virgina Tech. I guess it's asking too much of FN to post a story about the NYY that isn't all about bashing them.

hyperRevue. Bad comparison.Ellsbury couldn't hold Joba's jock strap when it comes to raw talent and potential. That's not just me saying that and it's not NY media hyping him. Every major and minor talent scout, prospect evaluations, ESPN analysts (mostly Red Sux fans) all say Joba is a sure bet ace in the making. Ellsbury will be ok, mostly just valuable for his stolen bases and not so much his bat. Deep down inside you know you would trade 4 Ellsbury's for 1 Joba.
