Cant match with Ovechkin. CROSBY WHO?????
Put a proper team in front of Khabby, and you have a better stat year last year than it really shows! And c'mon, seriously if they are willing to risk 5.25 million, for a goalie who only HAD ON GOOD YEAR, theodore, than you wo uld almost assume that they would try this one out! Khabby has been above average for more than one year. And we do have some salary room left, so it wouldnt be completly out of the question! Maybe liek others said, jsut waiting till he enter the re entry waivers, to get him cheaper. ANd if they do, and they make the cup finals or go further in the playoffs, he would resign.
LETS GO TWINS!
Your right in some sense yes, however, look what he also did with what he had. He fed and raised a team of pitchers, Adam Lind, Travis Snider, adn the list goes on! however he has made some bad mistakes. But if it wasnt for him, we wouldnt be were we are at today!
GO JAYS!!!!!
OCTOBER HERE WE COME
When He is healthy, he is the one of the MOST dominate guys around! I have stuck up for him before, when he was about to sign with Colorado at the trade deadline, adn i will do it again. I would much rather have him on Colorado than face him in the playoffs!
Even when he is not 100% he is still more dominate than most second or first line centermans out there! a very few can protect the puck, nor put the intense presence he puts when he steps onto the ice surface!
I say sign him, to a small contract, dont let him play till he is ready and able to play! He wont stay out there that long!
Remember the only reason why he was entertaining the idea of retirement! not cause he wasnt physically able, he just wanted to make sure his heart was in it 100%!
THIS IS WHAT WE NEEDED! 2001 coming back all over again!
LETS GO BOYS!!!!!
The KHL luring of NHL players is what the NHL needs. COMPETITION!!
I say Alexei Kovalev is next. This is his last year on his contract. I cant wait. The guy is the anti-bruin.
bostongm | 08/15/08, 10:16
Competition is right, however did we not just lose a year of hockey because the owners thought they were payign their players to much! With the KHL prices for talented young players is goign to go through the roof! Unless there is some sort of aggreement, good bye NHL!
cmh_phx | 08/14/08, 10:35 AM
HAHAHAHAHAH
this is a good one! Atleast one team every year does this!
Apparently JP RICCIARDI may be looking to switch leagues! he can screw the leafs over with over paid injury prone players like he has with the Blue Jays!

so true!
Except the Wolski Signing as well! But other than that, we have been pretty stupid this off season!
Tell it like it is | 07/11/08, 10:43 PM
Well, i believe we have pretty much did our spring clean up already, which should of been done a few years ago! and that was getting rid of gibbons! Was not a fan of his play. Very inconsistant in the offence part of it all!
I say lets see how AJ pans out, even if we do lose him, we have that hefty 11.25 mil a year to spare on another 3rd or 2nd string starter! he is coming around! lets try and get another 20 solid starts out of him. Give our club a chance to win! we cant lose anything really. No one will give us anything valuable for him!
This move would of killed them i think,
your right you have 3 very talents SS's and to try and juggle one more, with a contract of that size, you would hope he was a .298 hitter with a little more gap power than 11 doubles!

TO CLARIFY SINCE YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NOT REALLY UNDERSTOO THE COMMENT, I WAS NOT SAYIGN THAT THE EUROPEAN NATIONS AS A WHOLE. MORE SO JUST THE PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE! THEY HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT CRITICS OF THE GAME! A COMPLETE MOCHARY OF THE RULES ADN ITS MEMBERS! THEY DO NOTHING BUT WINE, DIRTY DIRTY PLAYERS, AND YET DISRESPECT WHAT HAS BEEN OFFERED TO THEM FOR A CAREER! SO BEFORE YOU START ILLUMINATING MY IGNORANNCE AS YOU PUT IT, USE COMMEN SENSE AND RELATE THE COMMENTS TO THE SUBJECT!
Your Right, Avs C has been and Always will be Burnaby JOE. Just liek Yzermen is the wings C for lifE!
THere is no real Depth in the forward lines, we have some young guns who are upcomers, but no one that is really ready to take a team to the playoffs and further!
Unfortunately we are sitting ducks which ever way he chooses, but for him i would give the time! either way, he will be with the team!
The sad thing is, it is seeming that the Europeans are the ones complaining and always wanting mroe out of the NHL, adn yet they give nothing back to it! Radulov pretty much just **** E D slapped the NHL and preds in the face! Why let him back, let him go make his money the greedy P R I C K!
So dont get too worried even if something was to happen!
The best thing Bettman could do is walk off The Chrysler Building
Spiny Norman | 07/11/08, 12:47 PM
HHAHAHAH
that is a good plan, we can push hiim!
"There is no question in our mind or defiance about the league's authority here," Burke said in the statement first read to Ducks beat writers on a conference call and then posted on the NHL club's website. "We accept their authority to stop this and we intend to stop it."
"But in our own damn good time and only when I've had the last word" ...... BB
Okay I made that last line up, but he might just as well have said it.
Follow through with your threat and fine this man, Bettman, or lose any shred of credibility you have. Oh no, wait, you don't have any. Not with the fans, and not with Burke either, evidently
SOO AGREED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best thing Bettman can do is hand out some fines!
Now the bad part is, Burke is nothing but a chump! He came into a team that already had a good core of guys, granted he brought in a couple players yes! but Anaheim was already built! anyways, When Lowe finally defends himself and his organization, thats when Bettman steps in! C'mon bettman get real!
Gettign rid of Bettman- PRICELESS!!!!

Nothing against AJ, but as a Jay fan, it has been ffew too many years of watching him underachieve! With what we are paying this guy, he should have a better record! Granted, the run support is not there, we are only hitting a .218 with runners in scoring. But at the same time, when you need a big win, you cant really count on this guy! I would like to get something for now, not in the future! Been way too many years of REBUILDING!
ANYONE REMEMBER RICCARDIS 5 YEAR PLAN! LMFAO
