Thanks Salted. I wanted to vote left as a vote against Berman, but I found right to be more accurate about what ESPN is and how they want to be percieved.

Berman is the most recognizable face of ESPN but sometimes when his voice gets all gravelly I think he's been drinking whiskey on the job. And I also think that Berman fancies himself as one of the Three Stooges, (Moe).
LS Nuts, you said this:

"As one of the originals, he needs to be treated like an icon, not necessarily put to pasture but set aside and pulled out for special occasions."

It could very well be that this is one of those 'special occasions' for Berman.

Waiting for the last argument. If Berman is going to be a regular in the MNF booth, Salt gets my vote. Otherwise leaning right.

Although right brought up some good points in his counter arguments, how the little conferences will play into this if at all, the effect on other sports, it was apparent after reading the arguments that right didn't understand left's proposal, leaving right's arguments less than acceptable.

Based on arguments, easy vote left.

Based on proposals, easy vote left.

No way does college football need sixteen teams to find a champ, the spread in talent from teams one through four compared to the teams at thirteen to sixteen is extreme. There's not nearly the parity in college football that exists in the NFL so an extended playoff is not only undesireable, it's also unnecessary.
I read all of the arguments, it's not that complicated. Just to vote against somebody because you don't like them, now that's shallow... and narrow minded. It's one thing to hate on DJ but to harass those that vote for him is just stupid.
It's obvious that you have a beef against DJ. I've also voted against DJ on numerous occasions. I read the TD's that catch my interest and Marlins Fan is a very good TDer but on this subject I think he's wrong.
Same here CCC, but I do know that nsaids include aspirin and ibuprofen. NSAID means Non Steroid Anti Inflammatory Drug.

Got to vote right.
That's exactly it. Sometimes a certain team is more 'fired up' than the other team, the fired up team has 'attitude' and is playing with 'emotion'.

How else can you explain Louisiana Lafayette beating San Diego St. in their bowl game? The Ragin Cajuns were way fired up, before the game started, they were knockin pads with the coaches.

And more importantly, Carson Palmer actually does NOT suck.

It never did, that's why the Cowboys loss to an UNRANKED team kept them below Alabama.

You're welcome,

1. I didn't know that, I thought there was a BCS bowl selection committee that decided the other BCS bowls... ~lobbied hard by the bowl execs~

As long as Boise State was one of the at-large picks, it didn't matter much to me which other two loss major conf. team got picked but I still would go with Michigan over K-State, the Wildcats lost by a whopping 41 points to Oklahoma and Va. Tech did have 11 wins.

The 'better resume' is because LSU had a tougher non conference slate but look at how even the margin of victory is to opponents in common to LSU and Alabama:

LSU ---------------------------------- Alabama
41-17 ---------Arkansas----------- 38-14
41-11 ---------Florida-------------- 38-10
38-7 ----------Tennessee--------- 37-6
45-10 ---------Auburn------------- 42-14
52-3 ----------Ole Miss------------ 52-7
19-6 -------Mississippi State----- 24-7

Right on Grue Baby, that's my guy! Alabama absolutely earned and deserves the #2 ranking decided by the polls. The BCS got it right according to their stated objective of matching the top two ranked teams in the National Championship game.

It's the two at-large picks where the BCS stunk it up, AGAIN!

Easy vote left although I also agree with right's anti BCS stance, excellent TD, guys!
