The atmosphere in the playoffs this year, was the closest thing to the 1998 Stanley Cup Playoffs that I can remember. It was unbelievable. Hours before the game people lined the streets screaming all kinds of chants. Plus, we'll be even better this year. and as far as our rally goes, winning 11 of our last 12 games??? I consider that a rally. and being the first team to ever come from last place midway through and make the playoffs...that's a rally. I don't give a $#!t what division were in, that's a rally. and we can't control what division we're in so why do people always make it sound like it's the caps fault? The Caps could compete in any division in the entire league and with the new schedule, it will be proven this year.

I don't see the caps dealing Nylander. They're a team who is dying to win a cup and Nylander will stay. I do agree that Caps have alot of depth at the Center position, but that doesn't matter. they won't trade any of them unlees a really good offer comes up, maybe for a top-notch defender

I'd like to see Gabby stay and this team get somewhat rebuilt around Gaborik and PMB. They have a good young goalie and 2 very good players, now they just need to build a young core of players around them.

I live right between Baltimore and D.C. and I even would hate a Baltimore team. There's no need for them, plus I've been a long time Caps fan and as the article wrongly states, they AREN'T having trouble selling tix. maybe we don't sell out every single game, but every game I went to this year had a pretty solid number of fans. And as the end-of-the-season streak progressed seats sold quicker and quicker. Then in the playoffs it was an unbelievable environment. Why would they want to take that away and put a team in Baltimore. There is already the Ravens, who get no fans from outside of Baltimore and the Orioles who are equally popular to the Nationals. Baltimore and the NHL don't work, but I would like to see more teams in the North (Wisconsin, N.D., New Hampshire/Vermont/Maine, and then Canada).

The Lightining crack me up. They signed Olaf Kolzig, Adam Hall, and Gary Roberts and got a new coach who hasn't coached in the NHL since I believe '95, but their owner guranteed a division championship already. None of these guys are that great. In fact, their roster last year was just as good if not better--if you can't win with St. Louis and Lecalvier you've got problems. It was smart to get rid of Tortorella, but Melrose I'm not sure was the right choice.

Kopitar is the only legit player listed. Meszaros is decent, the Bulin-Wall i guess could rejuvenate if he was traded, but I really wonder what the Kings are thinking. they should be rebuilding, not trading their best players

Durk..I disagree that teh NHL should NOT limit goalie equipment size. it'd increase scoring, but what benefits would that have? to me, I don't think any.
