Since you know so much about Vick's game, then who do you think the Steelers should have signed. Because obviously with a poor pass blocking O-Line you will need a QB that can extend plays. So who did you have in mind?

Don't tell me Vick would not have helped the Steelers because if he could win in ATL with that pathetic team, he would definitely help the Steelers more than Batch or Dixon has.

People were all upset about Vick's legal troubles, but now that we are without any QBs and 2 games from playing .500 football, all that stuff doesn't seem so important any more does it?

The Steelers truly messed up by not signing Vick. I was the first to say Batch was not going to stay healthy and we needed a reliable backup the day they released Vick. Vick sure would help us right about now.

Dude you are absolutely correct. Those games were give aways. But they also come from bad coaching too. You don't lose games like that unless the players are not focused. And that is the coaches job to make sure everyone is prepared for those kinds of games.

After what I witness last night by the Spurs, they need to call Iverson. Without TP they have no PG and the Spurs offense looked terrible. Pressure Mason and we can't score. I knew it was only a matter of time before Manu was back in street clothes. I would get AI as insurance or this season is going to be a waste.

How do you know this are you in their heads? Nobody knows what will happen in the offseason. All I know is LBJ and wade is a 60pt back court easily and the opposing court will be lucky to have 25 pts in overtime.

SVG was a coward. He took the coward way out. If he didn't play him and lost, some people would have said he was dumb for not playing Nelson.

But the smart and brave thing to do is ride the horse that got you there.

Now if he was really smart he would have only brought him in if the Magic were up at the end of game 3 at home to close it out.

But that's the problem, SVG is not smart and can't coach. I really can't believe this guy is a head coach in the NBA.

Even D. Howard didn't want his own teammate playing in that series because he knew he wasn't ready. Hell, we all knew it. Including Grant Hill.

Killing him would only bring the heat. If they were going to kill him, they would have done it before all this got out, but since the Feds were involved it would have been much harder to cover up.

True indeed.

When it comes to basketball, I believe mileage is mileage. Either you are playing or you are not playing and the more you play, the more miles you put on your body.


But I have long stated that the Lakers only won the title because they were the luckiest of the top caliber teams last season. They were lucky team to stay healthy, with the exception of the Nuggets and Cavs which I don't consider championship caliber, but a 2 decent teams. The other teams, Spurs, Rockets, Celtics, Magic were hurt.

It doesn't matter if the Best team wins the finals. The Question is.... did the best 2 teams reach the finals.

Fixing games is about maximizing your money. And putting the best against the best is not always going to make the most money.
Especially for the NBA.
No billion dollar industry is going to roll the dice and lose billions. The NBA is not stupid. They are not going to foolish when they fix games. They are not going to help the current Knicks beat the Magic because no one will buy it.

This would be huge for the Bulls with the young guns they already have, to get a seasoned closer that plays great defense like D Wade, the Celtics wouldn't like this at all.

But it still wouldn't matter to the Magic, they would still be the best in the East because they really got a lot better, and they could play and win games with any style. The Magic are scary...

Oh don't worry they will start a Laker or Spurs thread soon. And we can start up the hype.

But yeah, the Spurs looked great. That win was way too easy. Kinda scary how good they looked. Now if they can only stay healthy.

But I was really impressed with Blair offensively. He needs to work on his defensive rotation, so does McDyess but on the offensive side of the ball those too looked good.

I bet Bonner never dreamed he could be so open. Those looked like practice 3 he was shooting.

I think the Cavs missed Delonte west against the Celtics. Gibson is not as good as West and to me that was the difference in that game.

But neither the Cavs or Celtics can beat the Magic so it really doesn't matter.

The Magic are deep. And they have a Dominant player with weapons around him.

A winning formula to say the least.
