Posted Saturday June 15, 2013, About: Andre Iguodala to opt out and become free agent
A.I is not a superstar but he will be good on any team. Lets not forget he was Philly's top scorer for a few years until they asked him to take a lesser role so the youngsterscould develop. I doubt anyone pays him 16 mil. He will fit in wherever he goes. He is a team first guy that is probably not great at anything but very good at a few things.
Talk about a drop off. There are few coaches available that are on Doc's level but they can surely get closer than Vinnie.
Posted Saturday June 15, 2013, About: Packers running back Eddie Lacy has gained weight
Its June, 7 pounds is ni big deal since he hasn't been able to run much.
Posted Wednesday June 05, 2013, About: Kobe Bryant eyes 2013-14 season opener for return
Kobe coming back is good for everyone in Laker Land but bad for the those that want Howard to stay. Kobe should keep quiet so he does not **** Howard.
Posted Wednesday June 05, 2013, About: Kobe will give Dwight Howard space as free agency hits
Howard seems too thin skinned to handle the pressure cooker that is Laker Land. It is win or nothing and Howie just seems to nonchalant for that. He may very well feel it on the inside somewhere but what he projects is a big, sensitive man that wants to be accepted more than he wants to win. Houston is his best spot since Kobe is not done and Kobe will always be a pain in Howards butt.
Posted Wednesday June 05, 2013, About: Three teams - including Philly - have contacted Brown
Brown is a great coach. He does not stay long but he will get the most out of a team. Philly is a terrible job if they have no Bynum. Clips without Paul are terrible too. The Nets have no cap room and a weak bench so they are stuck for a season or two. Hard to imagine Brown wanting to build a contender. He may not need a Jackson type situation but he does need something to work with that gives him an immediate shot. he is too old for rebuilding.
Posted Wednesday June 05, 2013, About: Cavs concerned about Noel?
Noel will have a hard time with the physical nature of post play in the NBA. He is not strong enough either to get himself in position to make an impact defensively. The Cavs should either trade down or go after Cousins by dangling draft picks. Even getting Jefferson would be better than taking Noel. One of the small forwards may be a better gamble but Noel should not even be on their radar.
Posted Wednesday June 05, 2013, About: Russell working out for Bears, Ravens and mystery team
Maybe this guy has learned his lesson and is willing to do what it takes to make a mark in the NFL other than being a bust. His history says that teams are wasting their time and money on him. He had a good last part of the season for LSU. He was not even the clear cut starter for them. He has a lot of growing up and catching up to do. If he is willing to grind he could be a decent find. His arm was never the problem, its his ability to read the defenses quickly that gave him the most problems.
Posted Friday May 24, 2013, About: Unnamed Jet: Team through with Sanchez
I hope these players are at least adult enough to admit to this to Sanchez's face.
Posted Wednesday May 22, 2013, About: Sixers owner would consider Bynum's return
The owner is stuck. There has been no return on the money he spent and the players lost for Bynum. IF he could stay healthy he would be a top 3 center. His immaturity and fragile knees are a lot to deal with for the next few years.
Posted Wednesday May 22, 2013, About: Stunned Cavs open to dealing top pick
If they are trying to fill the void at small forward they should take the kid from UNLV or the Hoya. Noel is more than 5 years away from adding good weight. He will be a free agent at that point. He has no offensive moves. His motor seems good but he is a skinny Tyson Chandler. It took Chandler a while to develop and he is still a liability on offense.
Posted Monday May 20, 2013, About: Nate Robinson unlikely to be a Bull next season
Nate is a scoring point guard and will find a spot somewhere. If he is not hot then he is kind of useless. His historysays he can be a pain in the butt about his role and playing time but as a bench player, he is worth the risk. Miami locked him down and he was unable to create for the others. it is score or nothing.
Posted Monday May 20, 2013, About: Could Cavs trade entire draft for shot at Nerlens Noel?
Noel has no offensive moves. Noel is a few years away from gaining enough weight to be considered thin. The Cavs need to pass on that shot at a quick fix and get one of the wing players to go with that young core.
Posted Monday May 20, 2013, About: Can Paul George stop LeBron James?
No one player will stop James. George locking up with James will hamper his offensive production. They will have to run multiple guys at him with the universal idea of just stay in front and if you are going to foul, do so with some force. James is not a great free throw shooter, put him on the line but they can not afford for either starting big man to get into early foul trouble.
smith lost a lot of money during the playoffs. He had seemingly gotten past his days of constant bad decision making. Obviously it was just hiding out for the worst moment to come out. Between the blatant elbow and the night out with Rhi he fell apart. His scoring died after the club run and of course his defense did too. Teams with realistic title dreams will not want the distraction.
Posted Monday May 20, 2013, About: Dwight Howard intrigued by Rockets, Mavericks
The Laker's are a mess. Kobe is hurt, the front office is in disarray, the coach is iffy at best and the team is old. Dallas is rebuilding but Dirk's game fits Howard's, the owner will spend money and shooters will come because Howard in the post gives them space to shoot. Houston is a good fit too. The Rocket's are young and they play hard. there is an unassuming star on the horizon in Harden as well as a lot of shooters. Houston's roster right now is full of the kind of talent Orlando tried to put around him. Similar system, just more talented players. Parsons is not to be ignored either. Money matters but Dwight is sensitive. Probably too sensitive for the pressure cooker in LA.
Posted Monday May 20, 2013, About: Cavaliers still considering Greg Oden
Veteran minimum only and do not expect to play him a lot until March or April. He should be a luxury item only for any team.
He may not be the most important but he is number two. Bosh gives them length. Bosh coming back from injury last year was almost as important as James finally seeing the light. Bosh will take one of the Pacer's big men to the perimeter and drive him to the basket or pop that jumper in his face. More than Wade's health, Bosh playing well is the second biggest factor in the Heat winning another title.
Over blown faction. James' kryptonite is that he reacts to very perceived slight. All he had to do was post it and take it out on them on the court. I heard the comment in its entirety and there is nothing to it. James is the best ball player in the world right now but he over reacts to stuff. This is why the physical play of Boston, Indiana and Chicago do not sit well with him. His response is to whine and not to make them suffer which he can do whenever he wants to.
Posted Monday May 20, 2013, About: OKC amnestying ... no one?
Perkins is not going to be anything more than what he is now. He is a physical force in the paint that does little scoring and does not move well. They knew this going in. Get rid of him and they will regret it. Ibaka is the let down. He has no post moves and gets emotionally unwound too easily. He needs to stay stateside and go to every big man camp available. Skiles needs to adjust the offense to ease up on the jump shots but he can't if Ibaka can not carry that load. Inside scoring, and a wing off the bench.
Posted Thursday May 16, 2013, About: Pistons, Nets after Shaw
Neither of those jobs is good. The Nets are capped out and have huge holes to fill. They liken themselves a contender but they have to do some wheeling and dealing to get to that point. The Nets players seem to need a reality check. The pistons have some young talent but Dumars seems to be spinning his wheels. See how the chips fall in LA. If he has to take one of those jobs he should go to Detroit. they have less talent but they have a lot of young guys including 2 young big men.
