Posted Monday December 17, 2012, About: Did Butler expose Indiana in upset win?
A simple defense-offense substitution for the last play can put IU back to the top. It is good that this defeat exposed the weakness of Hulls as a slower defender. It can be fixed by defense-offense substitution in the future.
Posted Monday December 17, 2012, About: Did Butler expose Indiana in upset win?
It certainly does. It exposed Hulls as probably the slowest defender in college basketball even though he is a great shooter. In the highlights whenever Butler scored, it was nearly all at the expense of poor Hulls. In the last play a walk-on scored over Hulls as if he wasn't even there. All IU needs to do in the future under last play situation is simply replacing Hulls with a good defender. There is no reason to play him for defensive purpose. This one is on the coach. He should know the weakness of a player.

If money can buy championship, then the Knicks should have multiple trophies in the last 10 years.

The Heats had a "specific" situation in which the big three needed to take a little less to make it work. So they did. If James and Bosh were going to the Lakers and Kobe needed to take a bit less to make it work, he would do it too based on the "specific" situation. It is not uncommon for a player to suggest a pay cut himself should similar situation arises. But suggesting that a player should demand such cut "before" the situation calls for it is ridiculous.
Posted Tuesday March 27, 2012, About: Odom hurt by boos, considered leaving the game
This is a sad story. I believe that Odom has been overrated ever since he arrived and played for the Lakers. With the 7 foot twin-towers, he had a free ride with many open layups and became celebrity with two rings. But Odom's skill is extremely limited. His only good weapon is driving to the basket with a two step layup, but it is too predictable and can be easily defended. Once he was traded to Dallas, these weaknesses were exposed in full light. We can say it is the conditioning or mental, but what I just said explained the real truth behind his story -- he was simply not that good to begin with.
Posted Monday February 06, 2012, About: Clippers want J.R. Smith
Clippers really needs J.R.Smith. The minutes given to Foye and Gomes are not productive right now, while Griffin, Jordan, CP3, Williams, and Billups are playing excellent basketball. Butler is okay, not great. Smith can really fill in the void.
