Give Brian Kelly credit. He realizes that to compete in a NC game ND has to become more like a SEC team and dominate in the trenches. He needs to schedule SEC teams so he will have a better yardstick to measure his teams performance with. Playing the schedule they had last year, his yardstick ended up about 2 feet short.
There should be more cross-divisional games. Nine games would accomplish that or they could swap a divisional game for a cross-divisional every year and stay with eight games schedule. The con for more cross-divisional games would be more likely to have rematches for SECCG.
I would like to see the eight game schedule with 3 cross-divisional games and limit the OOC FCS games to a max of 2 per year and a minimal of 2 OOC FBS games a year.
I just would like to see more cross-divisional and better OOC games.
I said last year that Te'o was an average LB in the SEC but a great LB against weaker competition. The NCG proved that and SD Chargers will regret it. Same situation for Miller. Great QB against weak competition. Will be a no-show against a good SEC defense.
I think 4 teams is perfect depending on the selection criteria. Keep it simple.
1) Limit it to teams from the Top 6 post season eligible teams in the polls. (When was the last time a team rated 7 or lower had a legit argument for the National Title.) 2) Give the Top 2 automatic bids. (When would they NOT deserve to be in the playoff?) 3) Now pick 2 from the remaining 4 based on a set of criteria such as head to head games, common opponents, Top 25 competition, etc.
This should encourage teams to schedule better OOC games during the season. That way us fans should have better games thru-out the season
There were no exposure. Everyone that knew anything about football already knew that everything about Notre Dame including Te'o was over-hyped by the Media all year long. Those poor little darlings.
It is not unique for Bama either. In the 70's three Hannah brothers (John, David, Charlie) played O-line for Bama although only two played at the same time because of age difference. John/David then David/Charlie.
Kelly is copying Saban. Maybe he is learning something. Kelley telling the Irish they are 0-0 is the same as Saban telling Bama that they haven't won anything yet.
This Offense is loaded. With AJ coming back along with all of the WR's returning and Chris Black, DeAndrew White and Kenny Bell returning from injuries and FR's Robert Foster and OJ Howard (TE) joining the group this year, the passing game will be great this year. We know the running game will be great with TJ, Fowler, Henry and the rest of those 4/5 stars recruits. The only thing that will keep the scoreboard from burning up will be Saban putting the brakes on because I don't think there will be any defense that can hold Bama below 40 points this year.
Would like to see him go to Bama. But the kid really should look at a school that will give him playing time. Bama and LSU both is loaded at RB's. Maybe Arky or one of the Miss schools.
I agree. Nobody said these guys were smart. The best PR would be to let a third party expose 3 or 4 of your top clients, then you reap the benefits after you supposedly implement tighter privacy policies. Exposing these guys yourself is a risky move.
No program is squeaking clean. If you look at any program you will find at least several people on that team that has or is doing something illegal. It is virtually impossible to have that many squeaking clean people together.
Everybody seems to worry about him losing his 4th year of eligibility. He could always apply to play as a 5th year senior. Other schools does it all the time. So play him if he is ready to play.

IT is the old scheme, "Can't beat them on the field, then we will find a way to disqualify them off of the field."
This always happens to a team that rises to the top, rather it it is Bama, USC, Ore, Okie, OSU or whoever it might be.
It is easy too look fantastic against weaker competition. It is what you can do against better teams that matters.
