Second, even if the cap drops to 50 mil, although I bet by 2011 it'll be closer to $57 at least, that leaves the Cavs at least $7-$15 million for free agents not including MLE. So what do you mean where do I see the money coming from. It's right there. They will be under the cap in 2011.
Sure they don't have a center. But do you really want to get into what NY won't have? If they sign Lebron for $17.3 mil they will be at $47 mil in 2010 with no pg, no center, and no pf. I'd say Cleveland is already in better shape. So no money left over for a second superstar in 2011 if they want any pieces whatsoever or to resign Lee, even at the minimum of about $700,000 knicks will need 13 players right so add another 7 scrubs and you are at 51.2 mil.
Then the next year they will have only Lebron and no pieces whatsoever, no one to offer Bird's rights to, and sure can add another player but then will only have 1 draft pick + Lebron and another free agent which will add up to about 40 mil, leaving only 20 more to try and build a team that cannot go over the cap since they can only keep their current players. And no lottery pick from 2010 to even offer hope of improvement.
So please tell me why anyone would even want to play for that team since the only way to build a true contender is to draft well and then go over the cap since NBA rules reward teams with good players already on their squad, and the free agent route is shaky at best.
And do you really think Lebron will leave Cleveland? Or just talking smack? Cause you might really be eating your words in a year.
The final hurdle this Lakers team has to prove is against the C's - we all know it!
Some of us like to live other places and it's not like we couldn't move to NY like I'm sure everyone knows several people who have.
...they allow 48.6% shooting on a nightly basis...107.4 points...which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't shoot 43.3% themselves...and only score 100.6...
Otherwise they could have had him already.
It's not like Memphis was his first choice. Any team that passed on him already probably will again. Iverson's career is likely done.
No GM will let a tornado that destroys everything around it into their arena.
