I would say that you right, but you're not. kevin Durant for all his flaws has always been pretty forthcoming when it comes to the importance of Russell Westbrook to the team. Forget guys like Skip Bayless that feel that if Russell weren't there KD could put up BIGGER numbers. The Grizzles put the thinking to bed permanently. Doesn't matter how good you are, EVERYONE needs a little help from their friends. That being said, KD said and I quote ???I???m not going to ever compromise myself or my integrity or what I believe in to win some basketball games or to win a championship. That???s just how I was brought up. I guess he really isn't tired enough of coming in second. People roast LeBron for being man enough to know what his goal was as a man & a Player, and being smart enough to realize that he needed help. And regardless of what anyone thought he's the better for it. Kevin may not compromise who he is, but he better get use to the fact that at the end of the day he may end his career like some of the GREATS before him, (ie: Charles barkley, Patrick Ewing: Bob Lanier to mention a few)
About time. He's had a good career. the only then he can do by keep playing is the same thing that so many before him have done, forget where the exit is! Beat it Steve, go spend some money & enjoy the wife & kids!
Facts are facts. but in a world of what have you done for me lately, did any of these teams really care when he cut out. Not a battle worth fighting about. Not one of his moves netted him an NBA Championship except when he left Utah to head back to L.A., so what, look at what Utah has done in the past few years. Would Fisher staying have made that much of a difference? I think not. Loyalty is to the man who's willing to pay you, and if you both get something out of it then count yourself blessed. Don't hate the Player, hate the Game. Owners do this every year, when do we start showing the same disdain for them?
This is what you get for bleeding GREEN, kicked in the butt! NO loyalty Player! You would figure they would treat you better. But just remember this, they did the same thing to Larry Legend!
Every year a pick a sleeper & every year by the time they do what I expected them to do I begin to root for the other team. Last year it was Indiana until the played the Heat (the eventual NBA Champs). The year it was Golden State at the expense of the Nuggets who I really wanted to go deep into the Playoff s. I didn't get mad at Golden State because the beat the Nuggets, but like the Pacers last year, they got cocky. Played ball a long portion of my life. The one line that always comes to mind when I see someone getting cocky is from Samuel L. Jackson in "Coach Carter" .... "what gives you the right to disrespect the game I love?" After cockiness, comes humility. Need I say more?
Big Up to Tiger. If nobody asks a question, why volunteer an answer? Old school would know, that's good way to catch a sure a** whipping. But when you're as good as there has ever been scrubs will look for any opportunity to take you down. But the FACT of life is this, what God has given you NO man can take. Reign on Tiger, Reign on.
Game 1 brilliance has turned Wallace into a 1 Hit wonder. better find his game & quick. Down 2 games to 1 isn't where you want to find yourself this time of the year. Let's get it back B'klyn!
Not mad at him one bit. I've always like Samuel. Felt that he has had the misfortune to be with teams that had shoot first guards most of his career. If the keep the Big 3 together for another year, he'll get his Championship ring no doubt. That is, as long as everyone stays healthy.
Kind of a mute point seeing as how they hire him. Only time will tell if his philosophy is good for the Cavs or not. having LeBron come back to Cleveland next year couldn't hurt.
In light of the news about Russell Westbrook I'd say Serg needs to be thinking about how he can best help Durant. Every time he starts running his mouth rather than playing ball the results aren't so good (ie: NBA Finals 2012)
He's from North Carolina of course he's built for this. The only question is, will he cease the moment. Love him throughout his college career. Look for great thing from him as a Pro. But honestly, I'd Love to see the Nuggets make some noise this year. The lakers being as BAD as they are leaves the West wide open. The Game 2 loss ought to put a charge in the Nuggets to dispatch the Warriors as soon as possible!
Why is everyone pushing him to come back. I've seen where him not playing and Noah playing is suppose to be perceived as some sort of dig. Let me remind you how Grant Hill felt a need to justify that big contract he sign with Orlando and spent more years on the injured list, than on the court. I'm TOTALLY in favor of someone we KNOW has talent erroring on the side of caution by looking at the BIGGER picture. The Bulls though making some noise CAN NOT win the title regardless of whether Rose plays or doesn't play. That being said, GET OFF HIS BACK, or the next time you see him on the court, it might be in a different uniform!
In the few games that he played this year, not a bad decision. They better also think about getting some REAL talent around him. As well as a GOOD coach> Just something to think about.
