Posted Tuesday May 21, 2013, About: Cowboys' Smith battling with family over money
I have a sibling who puts money before blood. He has repeatedly been pestering our mom about getting his inheritence early before our mom passes away. After our mom passes, there is going to be a nice inheritence for all of us...except for one.

Our selfish brother asked our mom for the inhertience early. She then promptly donated 20% of his inheritence to the DNC in his name (He is a staunch Republican). Then next time he asked about his inheritence, she donated another 20% in his name to a group that supports gay marriage (he is as anti-gay as they come). My mom said that if he asks again about his inheritence, she will donate the remainder of his inheritience to PETA in his name (He hates PETA).

You can only imagine what it's like for person who comes into money, to have their family and friends feel they are owed money by that person. One of the benefits of making a lot of money in a short amount of time is you know who your true friends are...they are the ones that don't ask for money and when they are offered it, they turn it down.

"Y'all think I'm joking? They rolled right up on me and I hadn't been there for more than 2 minutes, tops"

We do think you're joking because we would expect the CIA to "roll up" on an unknown person who appears to be doing surveillance on CIA HQ in less then 2 minutes.

This is like walking into a store, acting suspicious on purpose, and then complain when the staff talks to you because they thought you were acting suspicious.

Not Letting a pro franchise team leave town is always cheaper than getting awarded an expansion team, or moving in another team later on.

The Mall of America was the reason the MN North Stars left town. THe Owners of the North Stars said they needed a new arena to remain profitable, but the owners of the Met Center where the Stars played sold the land to the developers of MoA, and MN didn't have enough time to get a new arena like the team owners wanted, and had no choice but to let them leave.

By the time it was said and done, The MN Wild cost 3 times as much to buy an expansion franchise and build the same new arena the North Stars said they needed to stay. The State didn't want to spend the money in the early 90's to build a new arena, but by the late 90's, the state was more than willing to spend whatever it took to get the NHL back in MN.

This is what Seattle is going thru now. They didn't want to spend the money for a new stadium at the time, but look at the amount of money they are willing to spend now to get the NBA back in Seattle.

It's the owners who vote to allow the sale of a team, not Stern. It's their way of making sure that the boat isn't rocked by an owner who puts the players and fans first and money last. They don't even need to give you a reason for the veto of the sale. The background checks on any potential owners is absuditily deep. An owner's group for another sport was turned down because of one of the ex-wives of one of the partners was questionable.

What would Al do?
Posted Wednesday May 08, 2013, About: Are the Raiders wrong for making Matt Flynn the starter?
If it's make sense, easy and will bring the desired results, then the Raiders want nothing to do with it.

No matter how bad it gets for any other team, they can put a smile on their face and think to themselves "at least we're not the Raiders"

When Geno cuts himself shaving, it's not his fault, it's the mirror's, shaver's and shaving cream's fault

If he walks into a door, it's the door's fault
Posted Friday May 03, 2013, About: Kahn relieved to have been relieved
With Kahn gone, that's at least an extra 5 more wins this coming season.

With Flip Saunders back as New GM, they should get back to winning soon.
Posted Thursday April 25, 2013, About: Are the Timberwolves preparing to trade Kevin Love?
Glen Taylor needs to sell the team. The best decision he made as a team owner is when he fired McHale. The worst decision he made was hiring McHale in the first place.

Then he hired Kahn. I didn't think it was possible, but Kahn makes you wish you had McHale back.
Posted Saturday April 20, 2013, About: Timberwolves replacing David Kahn with Rick Adelman?
Former NBA Player.
Been Coaching at the college level or higher since 1977.
1 of only 8 NBA coaches with 1000 wins.
1002-707 record as a NBA Head Coach.
Any head coach is heavily involved with player evaluation for each year's draft.
As a head coach, his time is limited on how much he can spend time scouting and evaluating talent, that's why every team has scouts on their payroll.
You don't get to his level of experience without knowing the duties of the GM and being able to do the job.
No GM locks the Head coach out of player decisions, so he has experience doing aspects of the GM job.
No GM is an island, that's why they surround themselves with people who have strengths and experience that the GM lacks...unless your Kahn that is.

Kahn's experience in Pro sports is he was a sportswriter, worked on the business side of things for the Pacers, and he was a lawyer at the firm that represents the major Pro Sports leagues. When the most experience you have running a pro sports team is from a video game that let's you play the GM role, it's hard to find someone who is less qualified...you would have to really look hard to find someone less qualified that Kahn.

I think they are referring to longtime Adelman assistant coach Elston Turner.

So he's saying that "thinking" requires so much of him, that he can't think and do anything else at the same time?

What are the chances that he has a sign next to his toilet that says "Don't forget to Wipe", and what are the chances there is another sign under that one that says "Your butt, not your nose"?
Posted Monday April 01, 2013, About: Theismann feels Ware's pain
I have paid for my Orthpedists 5 children's college out of how many times I have been in his office over the last 25 years. I have played in games where arms, legs and noses have been broken mere feet from me. I have no fear of blood or bodily harm, but after breaking my ankle and the replay of the injury, watching replays of other's leg injuries including simple "rolled ankles" make me cringe and leave the room like a 5 year old girl who is watching Jaws for the first time. I heard about this and I and everytime it was talked about on TV, I had to change the channel.

I hopes it's not's not as bad as I heard it was.
Posted Monday April 01, 2013, About: Aaron Rodgers changes offseason routine
In other breaking off-season news, Rodgers has reaffirmed his committment to help saving the Earth, and has confirmed that he has switch from double-ply toilet paper, and not only switched to organic toilet paper, but has committed himself to using 1 less sheet per wipe. He has asked for his fans to purchase his limited edition Packer Nation Toilet Paper with the face of Brett Favre on it but use one more sheet than they normally would, and the proceeds going to aid his efforts in maintaining his flexability off-season goals.

Stayed tuned for next week's breaking Aaron Rodgers News when he announces if he has changed his dental floss to mint flavored.
Posted Friday March 29, 2013, About: Morneau on the block this season
With the Twins wanting to make Mauer a full-time non-catcher, that means 1st or 3rd base. Justin Morneau hasn't been the same since his concussion, only seems logical he will go, but what would they get in return?
Posted Tuesday March 26, 2013, About: Last of Love in 2012-13
I love my Twolves, but Love wants to make sure he's relevent to an irrelevent team. The more time he can get on the court with Rubio and Co, they will be that much ahead next year. IMO, call it a season, they are tied for the 6th to last worst record, the only thing left to play for...er..not to play for is draft position.
Posted Monday March 25, 2013, About: Hoiberg a hot prospect for NBA teams
I was a huge fan of his after I saw him play for the TWolves the first time. I was sad to see him go. If Flip Saunder's group buys the Twolves, I wouldn't doubt if a phone call is made to Hoiberg if the Head Coach job is available, but I doubt he would leave. He's a hometown hero. Grew up in Iown, was Iowa's Mr. Basketball, turned down a football scholarship to play at Nebraska in their heyday to play basketball in Ames. It would be tough to get him to leave Ames again.

"Not Actively trying to trade..."

And college guys are not "actively" trying to find a girl to take home from the bar. "Actively" only means they will only admit to it if they succeed.
