While 10-4 is not the season that was predicted or hoped for, it is far from a disappointment.

BTW it is "alone" not "a lone". Looks like that Kansas public education is paying off for you. Have fun making biscuits at McDonald's when you graduate.
Posted Thursday January 08, 2009, About: Mizzou's Maclin turning pro?
I wouldn't say that 10-4 is a disappointment. Our defense on the other hand was a disappointment. As far as disappointment goes, next year is KUs best shot at the North. Not going to happen. Prepare to finish third....again.

BTW alone is one word, not two. Looks like that Kansas public education is paying off. Have fun making biscuits at McDonald's once you graduate.

Dick is not the answer. We need whole new face and attitude to come into town and give this team a new identity.

Keep the spread, keep Thigpen and trade Larry Johnson for draft picks or a offensive lineman. The skill positions are all young and should gel.
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Ankiel may end up with Braves
If they are willing to deal Ankiel for pitching, why not try to trade him and a few others for Peavy? I am still not sold on Rasmus so I am not all that big on the thought of having him as our starting centerfielder unless theplan is to put Skip in center and Joe Mather in left.
Posted Monday December 08, 2008, About: Cardinals shift free-agent approach
mlb.com has retracted their earlier statement about Burnett. I think Moz is going to try and get Anthony Reyes back. Boo-yah!!
Posted Monday December 08, 2008, About: Cardinals shift free-agent approach
Moz is willing to give him $15 Million/year to get it done. The Birds are way closer to contending than the Braves and Burnett is from Little Rock, Ark. Playing for a contender and being close to home may be enough for $15 million to be the magic number.
Posted Monday December 08, 2008, About: Cardinals shift free-agent approach
Burnett is the main goal for Moz per mlb.com

I wouldn't turn my nose at Penny. With the right handling and run support he can easily be a 15-18 game winner.

I am going to shoot Mozeliak in the face. He is on pace to being the worst GM currently in MLB and in the history of the franchise. Neither one of these guys is the answer to the problem in the bullpen. What an idiot.
Posted Wednesday November 12, 2008, About: Weis in trouble at Notre Dame?
His slovenly image sets a poor example for his team. To compound things he had zero head coaching experience and no experience at the college level. He is not the first extremely successfull NFL coordinator to run a program into the ground. Woody Widenhofer, the architect of the Steel Curtain defense, drove a once decent Mizzou program into the ground by not knowing how to handle student athletes and how to recruit. Bill Callahan did the same thing at Nebraska. Charlie needs to get back to the NFL where the players are motivated by money.

This photo must have been taken when Charlie was at Ryan's Steakouse and the ice cream machine ran out.
Posted Monday November 03, 2008, About: Cardinals interested in Renteria reunion
This dog won't hunt. Edgar will be a liability defensively and pitching should be the greatest concern not getting a washed up middle infielder.
Posted Saturday November 01, 2008, About: Pinkel may top Huskies' list
Was Va Tech an elite program before Frank Boemer got there? No, Boemer made a program with no tradition a great program and took them a national title game. There is no reason that Pinkel can't do the same with MU.

Whatever.

You said we had no national championships and it does not matter when they were accomplished, the fact is we have them. It's absurd to believe that a program cannot build itself into a contender and win a conference championship or NC. Just because you don't want it to happen does not mean it won't.

I thought all along that Brad Smith was not the right person to run a pass first run second spread offense. As long as they ran the ball 60% of the time MU did ok with Smith at the helm. When they ran the offense as it was intended like they did Smith's junior year in 2004 they stunk up the field and Damien Nash quit the team. Once Daniel took the offense things started to click. Daniel however is the limiting factor on the offense because he does not have a big enough arm to keep the safeties and corners back. Blaine Gabbert has an NFL caliber arm and the offense is going to be better with him at the helm. The defense does not need better personel, it needs to be schemed better.

As far as going to Washington, Pinkel recruits Texas heavily. How many of those players are going to bite on that knowing that they have to play USC every year and live in the rain and cold of the Pacific NW.

As far as our history, we where a bowl team throughout the 60s and 70s and in the early 80s until Norm Stewart helped run Warren Powers off and Woody Widenhofer was brought in in 1984. At any raten see you at Arrowhead. Your boys are going to get torched.

Who is **** and moaning about respect? Who said anything about being #1? You are donkey raping s- h- i t eater. I stated that Pinkel has built a better program at this point than Mangino and you decide you need to pipe in. Kansas is garbage and Nebraska isn't far behind. You **** are hanging your hat on a first time headcoach. Go spout your line elsewhere. Oh and way to jump on the TT band wagon, you p - u- s- s- y. If I remember correctly your beloved Huskers played TT pretty tight and MU absolutely embarrased your team on your turf. Saying that Ttech would throttle MU is absurd. You want so badly for MU to fall so you won't feel bad about your teams fall from grace. Pinkel has done a great job and isn't going anywhere. Chase Daniel leaving next year is a good thing and our program will be better because Gabbert has a better arm and a cooler head. You come to our house next year and you are going to lose again. The 80s and 90s are over, get used to it. And oh yeah, F- u- c- k you!

MU has won a National Title in Baseball and one in Track. MU stands a better chance of winning National Championship in football than KU ever will. I hate basketball so don't even mention that garbage sport. You would love to see Pinkel leave because it might mean that you might have chance of beating us some year. Your old defensive coordinator even said that your schedule last year was the only thing that allowed you to look good in conference. The Orange bowl win was against a very weak Va Tech so don't act like that was a major accomplishment. You lost the one reg. season game you played against a decent team last year, and we have seen what has happened this year when the Yardbirds have played good teams. Yes MU has lost twice but they are not going to lose again this season and that includes the Big 12 Championship and what ever bowl they play in. Pinkel has worked hard to rebuild a once decent program and not going to leave this project until it is completed.

Having lived in Washington while in the Navy I can only comment on cost of living and climate, due to the zero tolerance drug policy implemented by the Dept. of Defense. It rains too much and property is way overvalued. Pinkel will stay at MU because he rebuilt a program that was torn apart 28 years ago by a bafoon named Woody Widenhofer. WU is Don james legacy, let someone else rebuild it.
