Excuse me if I'm wrong here(and I may very well be), but isn't the league proposing to limit the amount that the cap hit of a contract can vary from the highest three years of the deal and counting the cap hit even if a player retires before the end of the contract? Why is it also necessary to set a term limit? It seems like the other restrictions will minimize the artificially long contracts.
I have been saying this all along. While millionaires fight with billionaires, scores of regular people get hurt. Who's negotiating to "make whole" these people? To me, this I'd the most upsetting aspect of the lockout. I'm beyond caring about either the players or owners at this point.
Who's paying to "make whole" all of the arena & team employees who have been laid off & the bar/restaurant owners who are losing business because of this stupid lockout?
so...a $10M signing bonus before you've even played a single game for your new team is not enough good faith? Please. I'm so over all of these millionaires bickering about money while regular working people are getting put out of work.
$75M...Not exactly Suter/Parise money, but no small potatoes for the area.
