Excuse me if I'm wrong here(and I may very well be), but isn't the league proposing to limit the amount that the cap hit of a contract can vary from the highest three years of the deal and counting the cap hit even if a player retires before the end of the contract? Why is it also necessary to set a term limit? It seems like the other restrictions will minimize the artificially long contracts.

No, but who needs police and public services when there's a new hockey arena, excuse me, "multi-purpose events center" to be built.
Posted Wednesday November 28, 2012, About: Lockout will now hit Wild employees hard
Exactly. It???s a shame that the people who can afford it the least are the people hurt most by this lockout.
Posted Saturday November 17, 2012, About: Daly: Maybe they should get a reality check
I have been saying this all along. While millionaires fight with billionaires, scores of regular people get hurt. Who's negotiating to "make whole" these people? To me, this I'd the most upsetting aspect of the lockout. I'm beyond caring about either the players or owners at this point.
Posted Sunday November 04, 2012, About: Skepticism of NHL's 'make whole' offer
Who's paying to "make whole" all of the arena & team employees who have been laid off & the bar/restaurant owners who are losing business because of this stupid lockout?

Poor little rich boy. Nobody forced you to go play in Sweden. Be happy you're playing anywhere & get over yourself.
Posted Sunday November 04, 2012, About: Why NHL cancelled Winter Classic
" NHL chief operating officer John Collins estimated the game would have produced $75-million for the southeastern part of Michigan."

$75M...Not exactly Suter/Parise money, but no small potatoes for the area.
Posted Sunday October 28, 2012, About: Suter: Owners trying to go back on their word
so...a $10M signing bonus before you've even played a single game for your new team is not enough good faith? Please. I'm so over all of these millionaires bickering about money while regular working people are getting put out of work.
