I don't know why people put so much stock in bench pressing for judging strength. Football is played standing up not lying down. I don't know, if at the combine, they are doing snatch and clean and jerk test, but that would be a better gage.

Bench press is good for one thing, powerlifting contests. I wasted a lot of my youth on bench pressing when I should have been doing olympic lifting. Olympic lifting = explosive power. Bench = showcase exercise.

Tim Tebow isn't going to do crap in the NFL. He's a fullback that jump passes. A run first quarterback that everyone knows is such a "valuable" asset in the NFL. If he was so great he would have come out this year, I mean come on... He's already won a Heisman and a couple of championships... he's scared of the NFL.

Sanchez is a pass first mobil quarterback. Although I think another year would have been beneficial and quite possibly won him a heisman. I bet Sanchez lasts longer in the NFL than St. Tebow does, unless they turn Tebow into a tightend.

Finally, the first post this entire football season that I can't be mad at. Usually after someone hates on USC (for losing one game) the next sentence is something like, "Florida is great".

But that was Alabama, in a weak SEC conference (seriously) and they didn't impress with their wins. None the less, Utah was impressive this year.

Doesn't matter how many USC loses to the draft. They'll replenish and have another great year. Can't say that for the rest. Look at LSU this year.

I read somewhere Fenway will be doing stadium renovations next winter. So 2011 would be the earliest for them. And I agree, bruins vs habs would be awesome.

Please... so you've never been to a flyers game and heard a spontaneous chant of "rangers suck" from 19,000 plus? It's just fun. And when you go to MSG, you'll hear "Potvin sucks" even after all these years and do you think Denis Potvin was a sucky player? (Rangers fans do for other reasons)

Don???t give me this "philly fans get a bad rap" crap. That's something the media drones up every time someone boos Sarah Palin. Don't kid yourself, every professional sporting venue in the US has passionate fans and has some chant that includes "suck" in it.

Admittedly, I have moved from the philly area, and have only seen one flyer game at the Wachovia Center. I used to go to the Spectrum and raise hell; cuss; standup for a breakaway; cheer great hits and fights.

Maybe too many highly paid, hand sitting, socialite yuppies, like yourself, are attending flyer games nowadays...

...or you could just be a blue collar worker going soft.

if colt makes the NFL he'll always be a bench warmer like his other Longhorn brother...fight on USC. btw, Texas is lucky they won't be playing USC in Fiesta Bowl. That defense would show colt the way things are in the nfl. Also big 12, for your own sake, schedule some decent ooc teams for crying outloud. How in the world can you get excited or even want to attend some of those pathetic matchups is beyond me. I'd rather watch a hockey game.
