The Lakers just proved they are NOT the team from last year and they proved the Rockets are NOT the tough team people think they are (even if Ron "I cant control myself" Artest is on the team). Lakers in 5!!!
GhosTown | 07/17/08, 12:49 PM
Shut up, moron. I understand you are a Spurs fan but you can still TRY to have SOME objectivity. LA still has the best chance to win the west, especially with a healthy Bynum, considering they did it last year without him.
bogeyphobic | 07/11/08, 10:47 PM
Lets see ANY "great" coach go to a S**ty team and WIN. It WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Haters should castrated. Try being a real sports fan and stop wasting everybody's time.
GhosTown | 07/11/08, 02:39 PM
I think you have lost your mind. Also, it was not Phils fault that the team STOPPED running the offense when times got tough. That was a clear sign of a young team that panicked when the pressure was on. You cant blame Phil for the team not doing what they had done for 90+ games. Besides, 9 rings, is 9 rings.
but you cannot win a championship with Radmanovic in your starting line-up.
arejaydub Sept. 13,'08 | 07/11/08, 02:49 PM
The only reason Rad was starting was because of the injury to Ariza, who was starting prior to the injury. Rad was, and is, a bench player at best.
but they need a BIG BODY with toughness.
Artest guards the SF's out on the wings.......
he's not going to be banging for rebounds or swatting lay-ups away.
- he is a big name- but NOT want the Lakers need
No way this deal happens- anyway
it is stupid to trade within your own division
jgb | 07/11/08, 12:30 PM
If I remeber correctly-LA already has that guy and his name is Andrew Bynum. You are probably right, though. The deal will probably not happen. But as far as the interior presence-LA already has that covered.

WHO WILL PLAY DEFENSE FROM THIS LINE UP... Did you see what Pierce did to Kobe in the finals....
I is the (wo)man
MAYBE ARTEST YOU MORON!!!! ARTEST would MOST definitely D Pierce up. Artest is more Pierce's size but is much stronger and more athletic than chubby Pierce.
pgreene
Yeah, and his 11 points for the entire series cost them as well.

In the context? Not sure what you mean by that.Whether they are strapped for cash or not, is beside the point. They can use the mid-level on Posey which doesnt count against the salary cap. To get Posey they will have to lose Sasha (which MOST certainly is an upgrade in my book) and they will probably go after someone like Kurt Thomas/Alonzo (for very little $-probably what they were hoping to get Ronnie for) to replace Ronnie. Essentaily, they will replace the guys they lose with veterans who can play D (and with Posey they will not lose the 3 point shooting of Sasha). So, its not like all is lost if they dont sign their reserves-there are other options out there and they WONT have to break the bank.
Open fact, huh? What has NO done? Extending Pauls contract is NOT what I would define as getting better (I know they are after Posey as well) adnd they have yet to resign Pargo. San Antonio has not done anything of real significance yet (Roger Mason is a decent addition but not a franchise maker). The bottom line for all those teams is that none of them have much cap space, if any. Portland, I will admit is a very talented team-but experience takes time and an off season is not the experience that counts. LA has back up plans for anything that can happen. I am sure they understood that there was a chance they were ot going to get Ronnie or Sasha back which is why they have contacted Posey. LA will be fine. It is going to be nice when they have Bynum at Center, Gasol at PF, Lamar at SF and with the available free agents on the market-LA will be mighty fine.

****? Are you sterile or an idiot? I know exactly what I meant and meant exactly what I said-I am sorry that you are not bright enough to figure that out. However, my pity forces me to elaborate, Kevin McHale (the EX-CELTIC) was the other guy who made the deal w/ Ainge, trading Al Jefferson for Keving Garnett. THerefore, McHale will have nobody to trade to Boston in order to fill the gap to prevent the collapse of an old, veteran team. Understand now?
Kaycee3 | 07/10/08, 06:15 PM
And you pop your little head up in here-talking nonsense. Like I said-3 years till Boston is BACK in the lottery. McHale will have nobody to help bail out the franchise then. Besides, the 76ers/Cavs will own the East next year.
TheLakersNation | 07/10/08, 08:56 AM
Yea, sure buddy
Hank (who's on my shirt?) Hill | 07/10/08, 01:00 PM
In EVERY article I have read which relate to Posey, LA is mentioned. They most certainly would want to obtain his services and they should.
Posey will be a Laker guantee.

With what money luxury tax
CEL | 07/10/08, 01:13 PM
I am pretty sure that LA is not that worried about the Luxury tax-since they are already over it with the guys they have under contract now. If they have to pay Posey more than the mid-level then they would have to pay more luxury tax.
None of the teams in the running have much, if any cap space. So if Posey is offered more than the mid-level it will be by some bottom dweller which he might not want to play for. Spurs, NO and LA dont have money to throw around-they all will be offering about the same $. Hopefully Posey will make the RIGHT choice and come to LA
