Posted Tuesday November 24, 2009, About: Big obstacle to Twins re-signing Mauer
As great as it would be to get Mauer I don't see him leaving Minnesota. The guys entire life is there and he doesn't seem to be the kind of player where it's all about the money. Unless the Twins make such a low ball offer that they insult him I see him re upping with them.

If Halladay ever went to the NL I really believe he would finish the year with 26 wins and an ERA under 1.
Posted Sunday November 22, 2009, About: Why Knicks passed on Iverson
I know the Knicks are building for 2010 and beyond but they do need to remember that they have fans who would like to see a halfway decent on the court now. What incentive do I have as a fan to buy a ticket and come to the Garden when i know they are essentially forfeiting all of the 2009-2010 season? Bringing in Iverson and letting him start would have given the Knicks a player that would score a lot (with much ball hogging) and at least make their games a little more competitive and that would at least sustain ticket sales until the end of the season. It's going to be real great for them when they open 2010 season with no fan base. Yes you look to the future but they have a responsibility to take care of long time Knicks fans in the present as well.
Posted Sunday November 22, 2009, About: Yankees keeping eye on Halladay
As much as a $100M rotation would dominate and bring in countless WS championships you have to wonder where the break even point is. Right now we see that a $200M payroll helps the Yanks generate a profit but you can only sell so many tickets and so many jerseys. If payroll was say $300M would they actually lose money? Adding star players does help the bottom line but eventually you come to a point where the benefit is either negligible or even negative.

BTW hope you know Yanks are trading for Halladay and signing Holiday to play left field. Sox will finish 3rd next year and Theo will jump ship to become Cashman's assistant/ lackey.
