Another story...there was this guy named Tom Brady who was a career backup until his senior year at Michigan...
I agree. The Herald is grasping at straws, because they know their readership is frustrated with the 'Canes failures in Shannon's first season. With all the success that the four national championship coaches had at the U, the expectations are pretty high. Shannon has the right attitude, he is pulling in the right players. Ultimately, that will translate to success on the field.
LSU had a good win over an Ohio State team that most people thought should never have been in the BCS Championship. The interesting thing about LSU is that they have been to 4 BCS games. All the Sugar Bowl. They've won every time. NOLA is only about That sounds a LOT like home field advantage to me.
UGA beat Hawaii. Wow.
Unranked Michigan beat Florida by 6, but did everything they could to give the game away.
Mizzou spanked the snot out of Arkansas.
Wisconsin came within an overthrown pass to a wide open receiver of beating Tennessee.
Auburn skidded by a very good Clemson team.
Kentucky did everything they could to give the game to Florida State before winning the Music City Bowl.
Bama beat Colorado in the battle of which team has a winning season at the end, but only really because the Buffs ran out of time.
Mississippi State beat UCF in one of the worst games I've ever seen. Neither team could do anything anything offensively.
So take that for what it's worth. Congrats to the SEC for producing another championship team. 'Best conference' talk is for the birds.
The SEC ended the season with the top 2 teams in the AP. The Big XII ended the season with 4 in the top 10. Both leagues ended the season with 5 Top-25 teams.
If my Sooners didn't totally tank another BCS game (after a great season), this wouldn't even be an argument.
