Posted Wednesday January 22, 2014, About: Browns expected to release Jason Campbell
From what little I saw of the Browns this year, they probably should cut them ALL. :D

I wonder if any team (other than of course the first year for an expansion team) has ever done that - gone into a season with all new QB's between the draft and free agency? I would be surprised if it actually has happened, but if anyone would do it, it would be this management team.
Posted Wednesday January 22, 2014, About: Broncos to wear orange jerseys at Super Bowl XLVIII
Next year, the NFL should have a 'team jersey color draft', like they are doing to pick the Pro Bowl teams.

Each year, the NFL gets one step closer to being the WWf.
Posted Wednesday January 22, 2014, About: Johnny Manziel may not throw at combine
For any player, at any position, the calculus is simple - you participate at the combine if you think it will improve your stock, and you do not if you don't think it will.

Lots of really good QB's choose not to throw at the combine - RGIII, Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Alex Smith for some recent examples. Worked out ok for all of them.
Posted Tuesday December 10, 2013, About: Bears have a QB quandary on their hands
As a life-long Bears fan, and someone ho has supported Cutler, I have to agree with the analysis that says it is time to let Cutler go. The Bears need to rebuild the D, while having what seems to be a true offense for the first time in over a decade.

Given the money they need to spend on that side of the ball, along with Tressman's track record making journeyman QB's into high performers under his tutelage, (Rich Gannon, Bernie Kosar, Scott Mitchell, Jake Plummer all had their best years, by far, while he coached them), how do they justify the cap hit of retaining Cutler?
Posted Wednesday November 06, 2013, About: Flacco's reputation flagging again
No Flacco fan, but let's be honest here.

ALL QB's, including Payton, Brady, et. al., throw WTF interceptions time-to-time. The great ones bounce right back, though.

Second, who does he have to throw to? The front office screwed him there.

Some pretty p*ss-poor reporting here.
Posted Thursday October 31, 2013, About: Jerry Jones plans to make more sideline trips
No, what they need is...

Posted Thursday October 24, 2013, About: Greg Schiano says his team can win with 'Buccaneer football'
To paraphrase Bum Phillips, Schiano can take his'n and lose to your'n, and he can take your'n and lose to his'n.
Posted Thursday January 24, 2013, About: Joe Flacco ... elite?
So, I am no big supporter of either Flacco or Eli Manning, but other than the obvious need for Flacco to win a SB, what is different about them? They both play inconstantly, and both seem to play much better in the playoffs. But for "The Strip" last year, this would be Flacco's second straight SB. Eli is acknowledged as a 'great' clutch QB; Flacco is 'meh'. While I am not sure I would want either were I GM over other NFL QB's, if it had to be one of them, I think I would take Flacco, myself.
