Shonuff. But what does Dana stand to loss by giving FA a sweet one fight contract? Come prove your worth and be done with it. I don't sympathize with Fedor much on this, but I still think Dana is being stupid.

Word.

Too bad Dana is such a d*che. Yeah, I'm appreciate what he's done for MMA, but jeez, why does he continue to mess up what could be several great matches by dissing a guy who would a) improve his revenue and b) finally decide who is the #1 HW in the world? Stop f'in around and sign this dude. Give him what he wants once. He wins? Keep paying what he wants (you can afford it). He loses? It sets the record straight and then pay him what you want. You've got nothing to lose, so stop ****'in around.

How about another rare, but extremely assuming, double KO?

Posted Friday March 20, 2009, About: Two MMA fights left for Kimbo
As I see it, Kimbo is a draw for several different types of people:

1) Bloodyminded people don't know a damn thing about MMA, but saw Slice on YouTube and want to see him stand and bang.
2) MMA fans who are interested in seeing if it's possible to take a street brawler and transform him into an MMA fighter (which takes awhile).
3) MMA fans who hate Slice's guts and want to see him get his as* handed to him.

I doubt there are any fans that don't have an opinion of him one way or the other. Because of this, I suspect he'll continue to be a draw if he sticks with MMA; admittedly a draw for the wrong reasons, but one nonetheless.

As for me, I'd like to see him continue to fight. He shouldn't be main eventing, but there's no reason not to put him on a card, have him work his way up (if he can) and have people give you money. Too bad it sounds like he's giving up on MMA. I'd like to see if he can make something of himself as a real fighter.

Easy there, big fella. Just tossing in my two cents. You can go back to proving to everybody what an MMA genius you are or just lighten up.

As for Danica, I'm sure we could find more interesting things to discuss, as I don't know the first thing about NASCAR.

Yep. He should be there, but after he retires. HOF is about what was, not what is.

Actually, Loki's 100% on the kangaroo thing. Wikipedia: "The dexterity of their forepaws is utilised in both punching and grappling with the foe, but the real danger lies in a serious kick with the hindleg. The sharpened toenails can disembowel an opponent." Tough little fkers.

Posted Wednesday January 28, 2009, About: Torre: Cashman didn't betray me
Oops. Screwed up my math. Shoulda just said 125 (what a sweet number...). Thanks for pointing that out. Appreciated.

I also agree that losing Zim putting a hurting on Joe. Still, great manager for the Yanks. The right guy for that locker room. Offering him one year was a slap in the face. They had nothing to lose by offering him two. And don't say "money" because it's not like we can't afford it.
Posted Wednesday January 28, 2009, About: Torre: Cashman didn't betray me
Yeah. Torre was such a crap manager for the Yanks.

12 trips to the playoffs in 12 years (100%), 10 of them as 1st place in the AL East; 6 trips to the World Series (50%) resulting in four rings (33%), including 1998 where the Yankees won the most games in MLB history (114 regular season games and 9 more in the post); and total record of 1,173 wins over 767 loses (60%).

Jeez, what a bum.

"i think they're putting most of their budget on Fedor's shoulders"
Yeah, Fedor is an amazing draw for those with a deep interest in the sport. Still, I think Arlovski just got stupid. Flying knee? Oops. Still, he bagged $1.5 mil. Not bad when you get beaten by a guy who only got paid $300K.
Posted Wednesday January 07, 2009, About: Couture: Lesnar-Mir Rematch a Tough Pick
"WWE cross over"? Yeah. Right. A WWE cross over who is a multi-time All American wrestling with an amateur record of 106-5. A WWE cross over who improves with every bout. So what if he was a professional wrestler? Only an idiot would think that the top guys in wrestling aren't athletes. This is a guy who, at almost 300 lbs, still moved like a middle weight. Brock is the future, even if Mir stops him. He was more well-rounded than Kimbo ever was, he's a quicker learner, a better all-around athlete, and completely dedicated to the sport. He is, in my opinion, a fine example of what MMA is about: start with a strong game in one skill and then improve in the other aspects.

Posted Monday November 17, 2008, About: Kim Couture rips Lesnar's trash talk
Yeah. I'm sure you're pulling of moonsaults and hurricanranas all the time. I still don't get people who think that professional wrestlers aren't athletes. And Lesnar is a big pssy? Give Randy a call and ask him how those hammerfists tasted...
Posted Monday November 17, 2008, About: Not Available
No surprise that Brock won. Hell, I admire Randy for even taking the fight in the first place. He hasn't been a factor in the UFC for over a year and his fight with Sylvia was... uninspiring. Don't get me wrong. Randy is an amazing guy to still be as competitive as he is at his age, but no amount of "game planning" is going to beat a guy who is 60 pounds heavier, nearly a decade and a half younger, and who actually has some skills. No doubt Randy could still wipe the floor with some meathead off the street (Kimbo, step right up... jk - I still feel sorry for the big fella), but given Lesnar's deep wrestling background, his freakish physique and natural athleticism? His victory was a foregone conclusion. As for Brock getting the title shot so early... Dana is no dummy. Brock, love him or hate him, put a lot of butts in the seats. And as lvguy said, if you can beat the champion, you deserve the belt. Dana knew Brock could, so he gave him the shot, made a fkload of money, and raised the UFC's profile even higher. Not bad for a day's work.
Posted Tuesday October 21, 2008, About: What will Kimbo, Carano do now?
Put Kimbo on the Ultimate Fighter. Ratings for the show, a chance for him to learn more, and if he gets stomped, no-harm-no-foul to the UFC. As for Kev demanding big money to sign up, I think he's actually got more brains than that (appearances notwithstanding). He knows that if he really wants to succeed in MMA (and gain real fame for it), he has to fight in the UFC.
Posted Monday October 06, 2008, About: Women fighters carrying EliteXC
Agree totally. These women can stand and bang, ground and pound, and submit you. Give them 15 minutes for them to do it in. And while you're at it, give some thought to giving them a belt and 25 minutes to defend it. WAMMA Women's Title.
Posted Monday September 08, 2008, About: Crowd boos Kim-Brown decision
Kim displayed more diverse skills than Brown, but you have to admire Brown's submission defense and resistance. I was all set to call it over when Kim sunk in the first standing rear naked, but Brown popped it. Tough call. I agree with the final decision, but it was really close.
