Posted Sunday December 22, 2013, About: David Price trade offers haven't impressed Rays
Exactly. On a low budget the Rays management continues to compete toe-to-toe with the giant budget teams in their division. They will find a match with a team that can/will strike a longterm deal with Price, and the Rays will come out with somebody's TOP prospects. The Rays have the ace in the hole and they will play it when the time is right for them.

Sorry, Shiprock, but quote #49 was weird. "Any athlete can adapt to another position." Really? As for your 'explanation', I must assume you are referring to 'professional' success rather than 'personal' success. Tebow seems to be very successful in his personal life. And 32 thoughtful comments beats the heck outta 13,000 goofy ones. But thanks for calling me a 'kid', at the age of 54, I haven't been called that in quite some time. :) No hard feelings, I was raised to respect my elders.

Does ANY part of this comment make ANY sense to ANYbody???
Posted Saturday July 27, 2013, About: Tim Tebow works with RBs, WRs
Apparently, Belichick disagrees with this comment since he has Tebow in camp competing for a roster spot. Belichick (who has won Super Bowls, is strictly team-oriented, and is a no-nonsense kinda guy) sees him in practice everyday and says Tebow "has a great work ethic." Isn't a 'bench jockey' a scrub who sits on the bench and runs his mouth talking a bunch of trash? That's what I thought.

Low-budget Twins won the division with Gardenhire in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010. AL manager of the year 2010, and MLB Manager of the Year 2009. He's the problem? Granted, he's 6-21 in postseason but c'mon, man! I took my kids to the Trop today to watch the Rays complete a 4 game sweep of the Twinkies. The Twins are offensively challenged at best. I went to Target Field last summer--beautiful stadium and nice people. I've seen Gardenhire at his best at some Spring Training games, joking with fans and having fun. He's a class act and a helluva manager. Now Dusty Baker....he sucks!

OK, enough about Gronk, now can we finally talk about TEBOW!!! Sorry, but his name popping up in this thread was inevitable. :)

Exactly. Zimmerman gets attacked by a drug-dealing thug who breaks his nose and tries to kill him by slamming his head repeatedly on the sidewalk nd the punk gets shot in self-defense. They chrge Zimmerman with murder? I hope he sues for malicious prosecution and becomes a millionaire.
Posted Wednesday July 03, 2013, About: Meyer mum on Hernandez, but lauds Tebow
Exactly! Hells bells, I don't see him making a major shift like that to TE, but what do I know? Has any QB done that in recent memory, or ever? But the guy is quite an athlete and Belichick used Vrabel (from the Defense) at TE, and has moved a lotta guys around, so like you said, we'll see. I'm a Bucs/Bengals fan so I have my own concerns. Lots of them. :)

When he gets as blind, deaf and dumb as Pete Carroll at USC, then we'll worry.

Are you asking ME if Tebow can block? Well, I don't see him in practice every day. I don't break down tape of him. I haven't questioned his coaches about it. How do I know? What makes you think he CANNOT block? As I mentioned, the experts see him as a TE or Hback, so THEY obviously think he CAN block. Yeah, TE's have to primarily block. They also have to run routes and catch passes. I don't like like Belichick, but I think HE can/will determine whether Tebow can help the team at TE or not. You don't sound like you're laughing, you sound more like McEnroe when he was screaming at the chair umpire, "the QUESTION, JERK! Answer the QUESTION!" You do know who John McEnroe is don't you???
Posted Tuesday July 02, 2013, About: Meyer mum on Hernandez, but lauds Tebow
Tebow has the size and physical nature to block, why not? Most NFL analysts deplore him as a QB and claim that TE or Hback would be his best position, so I guess they think he could block well enough. Those guys are mostly former NFL players/coaches, right? Who knows more, you or them?Laugh it up. He could also be used situationally as a TE or split out in the slot. With Mallet as a backup, and the Pats problems at TE, you don't think Belichick brought him in without considering giving him a look at TE? Belichick said he would use Tebow in any way that most benefits the team. That includes a possible change of position, does it not?
Posted Tuesday July 02, 2013, About: Meyer mum on Hernandez, but lauds Tebow
Tebow is a 'tool' that raises money for pediatric cancer centers, established a charity to support orphans in the Philippines, and is building a children's hospital in Mindanao. I've been to Mindanao twice and most people are desperately poor there. And Mindanao has a large Muslim population, so Tebow's hospital project will help a lot of Muslim children and their families. I can only hope that when people criticize Tebow as a nutty religious freak and belittle Christianity that those same people will reflect on the dogma of their own faith. Tired of hearing about Tebow or not, not many people give their time and energy (and money) to help those less fortunate.
Posted Tuesday July 02, 2013, About: Meyer mum on Hernandez, but lauds Tebow
All opinions aside on Tebow's athletic skills, I'm at a loss concerning the hatred this guy receives. I'm NOT a Gators/SEC fan but he accomplished a LOT on the field. Off the field, no lawbreaking, no litters of kids with multiple women. He created charity First and Fifteen to raise funds for orphanage in Philippines. Raises money for Shand's Hospital pediatric cancer center in Gainesville. Building Tebow CURE Hospital for children in Mindanao. Preaches gospel there, visits US prisons, schools, youth groups. Bows his head in prayer when he scores, rather than showboating to say 'look at me!' Do these haters just hate Christians generally ( like jihadists), or Tebow in particular because he has a 'holier than thou' attitude? I got news: he IS holier than thou, and me, too. He gets too much press? That's his fault? Hate me too, but I admire the guy. Any haters want to edumacate me, let's hear it.
