how so? they had plenty of time. They didn't execute
Posted Monday October 19, 2009, About: Bears in market for linebacker?
I think if there's one logical thing to do, it's make snap judgments about a 3-2 team that has played 4 close games that included 3 4th quarter comebacks.
In particular, I think all talk about getting rid of the Bears' Pro Bowl QB and their head coach with the 57% winning pct. makes a lot of sense.
keep it up, kids!
Posted Wednesday October 14, 2009, About: Chalmers resists Arroyo's arrival
Supernintendo Chalmers should be a pretty solid PG, but there's no problem with adding another quality guard for depth. Although, it doesn't really matter consider Wade essentially runs point during any crucial game stretch.
Posted Wednesday October 14, 2009, About: Rangers hitting coach to Cubs?
The Cubs are mostly veterans. I dont know how much this guy could help. Hitting coaches usually only function as scapegoats.
As for Sandberg, he has never been on an MLB bench (as a coach). I'm not a big fan of Lou, but don't think that would be the right move

Well I hope they get this settled before the huge Indiana/ILL game. I can barely sleep.

hey man - misread your post + didn't bother to proofread mine. I don't necessarily disagree w/ you.

../my apologies, but i'm predisposed to hate on anything Pack-related. thick, thick irony.
Posted Tuesday October 13, 2009, About: Bears failing in developing talent?
Phillydave - I assume you've watched both these guys play. There's no comparison in their ability. Cutler is a better QB.

Orton may game-manage Denver to the playoffs in that division. I mean, he never really did it in Chicago, but who knows. I didn't know they gave out trophies after week 5.
Posted Tuesday October 13, 2009, About: Rush denies racist statement...sort of
That, my friend, is some revisionist history. But keep the pity-party goingg - you're so oppressed.
Posted Tuesday October 13, 2009, About: Rush denies racist statement...sort of
he meant "safer after dark...for whites...who were men...and owned properety...who didn't teach blacks to read+write...or provide them aid of any kind"
Posted Tuesday October 13, 2009, About: Bears failing in developing talent?
yeah, way to provide logical reasoning for your statement.

Benson showed flashes early (over 4.0/carry in '06) but then started partying too much once the money came rolling in. He was ostracized in the locker room + needed a change of scenery where he finally realized his career would be done if he didn't start playing hard again. Would've never happened in Chicago.

Orton? Has really good WRs + OL. But let's face it, he is a system QB who still can't throw downfield. W/L record really isn't a good way to judge QBs, but I will say he never won a playoff game in Chicago (Rex did) and there's a reason for that. I actually like Orton + wish him well, but to compare him and Cutler is absolutely ridiculous because they're on two different levels.

The only Asst. Coach I'm sold on in Chicago is Toub. That being said, coaches always get too much credit or blame. It's on the players to perform.

Jesus would've taken the picture. Shame.
Posted Thursday August 27, 2009, About: Bradley accuses some Cubs fans of racism
Poor white America - so oppressed! When are the white male presidents, white male Supreme Court Justices, Congressmen, and CEOs? Victims of this world, we are all!
Posted Thursday August 27, 2009, About: Bradley accuses some Cubs fans of racism
Roid-freak, strike out machine + no-range rightfielder Jeremey Burnitz got a lot more leeway from the RF fans than Milt or Jaque Jones. Racists are all-walks, all races and all around. the bleachers surely have its share.

Just sayin (as a Cubs fan).
Posted Monday December 22, 2008, About: Orton's future with Bears uncertain
I wouldn't break the bank to sign him, but the options are limited. McNabb would be an upgrade, but for how long and at what price?

Also, why is Orton's record as a starter suddenly relevant, yet Grossman's was/is not? Don't get me wrong - I don't want to sere Rex in there, but that stat can only tell you so much.

The Bears certainly have a huge need at WR, which should be their focus in the draft + FA, though I think if Bradford or Stafford (and to some extent McCoy) go pro, they would be stupid not to take a look at those guys.

They'll probably end up drafting Tebow to add to the list of Gator-busts to play QB for Bears (Rex, Leak (never played), Wuerffel, Matthews...good god - please don't.)
Posted Monday December 15, 2008, About: Maclin won't confirm entering draft
Would rather have Crabtree, but either one could start for the Bears right now.

Posted Thursday December 11, 2008, About: Bulls coach critical of Noah, Thomas
Noah is a GD disaster: offensively-challenged, out-of-shape, undersized, and an all-around jacka***. The worst pick Paxson has made, by far - particularly considering he was drafted after Thomas and after the Ben Wallace signing. And they wonder why they have the worst post-offense in the game.
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Peavy, DeRosa in four-team trade?
Would DeRosa help the Phillies? Of course. However, for his career, DeRosa is essentially a utility player. He's also 33. He's coming off a career year. You can get something for him. Apparently, someone like a Cy Young winner from a team that is having a fire-sale.

Look, I like DeRosa, you like DeRosa, we all like DeRosa, but think about who you are trading for. Many Cubs fans (like many pro-sport fans in general) always think teams can give up "nothing" to get "something." It rarely happens. I remember people were pissed the Cubs traded f'n Matt Murton last year! And same thing goes for Pie - he got his chance and did nothing with it. Roll the dice, Hendry
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Peavy, DeRosa in four-team trade?
Dude, you're right - I don't realize how many games DeRosa won for us. I do know DeRosa had a career year in '08, yet Fontenot had a better average last year, and a better OBP.

I do know that Peavy won the 2007 Cy Young award - i think 19 wins. I do know that the Cubs top-3 starters all have injury histories. I do know that the Cubs' "great chemistry" got them jack-sh** last year.

Just because you have a man-crush on a career .279 hitter is no reason to get all hot & bothered (or maybe it is). Take it easy, son.
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Rose needs stitches after bedtime accident
Baseless internet speculation. What a surprise! The only trouble this kid has ever got in was a speeding ticket. He seems to live an exceedingly boring life for a millionaire 20-year old. Which is what I would want from my best player.

He has never done anything to cause doubt that it didn't go down like he said it happened. But keep up the conspiracy theories, a-h****.
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Jerry, Wade disagree over Barber injury
Barber was tough in college + is tough in the NFL. He is the best 4th quarter RB other that AP. Where did Jones get his medical degree? tool.
