We tend to forget that the Cubs had to completely change the culture that Hendry had in place and I believe they are doing it the right way, by loading their farm system. If you look at the A's, Rays, Cardinals and a few of the other top teams in baseball, they have very deep farm systems and it gives them the ability to be winners for many years. It just doesn't happen overnight. I am a life-long Cubs fan and, yes, it's hard to be patient, but it will pay off in the long run.

We tend to forget that the Cubs have one of the top 3 farm systems in baseball. It became apparent to me this year that Epstein and Hoyer brought in players who had the ability to have resurgent careers (Gregg, Feldman, etc), so they could use them to trade for quality talent. Now, that they have a stacked farm system and some other possible pieces they could move during the off season, this could be the set up of signing a couple really good free agents and Girardi. I believe you will see the results of their work next year and beyond! Smart, smart, smart!!!
