How come no one seemingly had the foresight to deal with this when player contracts were being drawn up or even more broadly, when the previous labor agreement was being hammered out? Was Olympic participation really not addressed? I'm getting dimmer by the year but as far as I can remember, the Winter Olympics take place every 4 years and Tom Thumb did promote player participation........
