Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: NFL may open Thanksgiving to more teams
I re-read my post and I realized it might not have been entirely clear. Each year's Thanksgiving schedule should look like this:

GAME ONE: _____ at either DAL or DET
GAME TWO: ______ [not DAL or DET] at ______ [not DAL or DET]
GAME THREE: ______ [not DAL or DET] at ______ [not DAL or DET]
Posted Tuesday December 02, 2008, About: NFL may open Thanksgiving to more teams
On one hand, I think the Cowboys and Lions should be rewarded and history should be observed by allowing them to host a Thanksgiving game. But then again, I also like the idea of every team getting to host a home game on Thanksgiving every few years. Why not a compromise? There are three games each Thanksgiving. Guarantee that either the Cowboys or Lions will host one of those games, while the other two games are hosted by any of the league's other thirty teams. The Cowboys and Lions get their Thanksgiving game every other year, and the other teams in the league get a home game on Thanksgiving every 15 years.

What kind of number is 97? Does Beimel think he's a defensive end?
Posted Tuesday November 25, 2008, About: Dallas, Detroit, KC may chase Cowher
As a Rams fan I'm begging them to get in on the pursuit of Bill Cowher... Begging.
Posted Wednesday November 19, 2008, About: Giant Jacobs may not play Sunday
I disagree. Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw are more than capable of getting the job done, especially on a short term basis. The Giants would be fools to risk losing Jacobs for the season by playing him when his knee is iffy.
Posted Wednesday November 19, 2008, About: Dallas writer leaves Pedroia off MVP ballot
It's not like this is the first time this ever happened. I'm pretty sure I remember a story of a Philadelphia writer leaving Mark McGwire off the ballot the year he hit 70 home runs. Regardless of what you think of Mark McGwire and his non answers at the congressional hearings on steroids, it's pretty ridiculous to say that there were ten more valuable players in the National League in 1998.
Posted Tuesday November 18, 2008, About: Do Rays have future in bay area?
Nothing against Tampa-St. Pete, but I think Vegas makes a lot of sense. And although Bud Selig may be opposed to moving a team there, one thing is undeniable... MONEY TALKS. If it appears that having a team in Vegas is more profitable for the other owners than having a team in the Tampa Bay area, then one way or another the team will eventually end up there.
Posted Monday October 27, 2008, About: Braves, Marlins working phones
I disagree with the article on one thing... I think the Cardinals do have the minor league talent to make a serious run at Peavy (if they want to).
Posted Friday October 17, 2008, About: Brewers expanding manager search
Buck Martinez. That's my prediction.
Posted Wednesday October 15, 2008, About: Did Lions fleece Cowboys?
I think this is one of those trades that definitely helps the Lions and probably helps the Cowboys. For the Cowboys, the trade won't be measured as a success unless they make it to the Super Bowl either this year or next year. That very well may happen. For the Lions, it's most likely the first of several moves designed to give the new GM a clean slate to work with after almost a decade worth of mismanagement by Matt Millen.
Posted Friday October 10, 2008, About: Huskies eyeing Mizzou's Pinkel?
While I don't think Missouri is any coach's "dream job," I just don't see Pinkel leaving Missouri for Washington. Kind of a lateral move if you ask me, and very much against the "bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" theory.
Posted Friday October 03, 2008, About: Bengals kicker criticizes NFL
Graham is 100% right on this issue. All the league would have to do is create a Bereavement Exemption to fix this problem. That way players have the time they need to grieve, without having to deal with the fact that their absence is hurting the team and costing another player his job.
Posted Friday October 03, 2008, About: Agent: K-Rod wants at least $75M
The Cardinals had more than 30 blown saves this year. Had they held onto half of those leads, the Cardinals would have been in the playoffs as the wildcard. That certainly would have been worth $25 million... especially if you get to remove Jason Isringhausen's $8.75 million from the payroll like they get to next season now that Izzy's contract is up.
Posted Thursday October 02, 2008, About: Padres open to offers for Peavy
Here's another Cardinals fan who would like to see what else (in addition to Rasmus) the Padres would want in exchange for Peavy.
Posted Thursday October 02, 2008, About: Ocho Cinco: I'm going to kiss Cowboys star
When I read that he was going to kiss Cowboys star, I assumed it meant he was going to kiss Tony Romo. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, because I would've loved to have seen a catfight between Jessica Simpson and Ocho Cinco!
Posted Monday September 29, 2008, About: Cards, Lohse close to big deal
Wow... Sure he was great in April through the end of June, but this is especially surprising considering how little Lohse did in the second half of 2008.
Posted Monday September 29, 2008, About: Redskin's celebration irks Cowboy
I'm no Cowboys fan, but the Redskins need to "act like they've been there before" next time they win a big game... especially against a conference rival.
Posted Monday September 29, 2008, About: Win or else for Rams coach?
I'm not sure I agree with the choice of Jim Haslet as the interim coach... but I'd take just about anybody (except Mike Martz or Rich Brooks) over Scott Linehan!
Posted Friday September 26, 2008, About: Jackson blasts Bulger's benching
Oh, and in response to a couple of the other posts in this thread, I bet the Rams front office would jump at the opportunity to trade Bulger to the Patriots or Vikings for some draft picks. And I bet he'd regain his Pro-Bowl form with a change in scenery. Maybe your people should call my people.
Posted Friday September 26, 2008, About: Jackson blasts Bulger's benching
Rams season ticket holder here... Marc Bulger has not been getting the job done, even when he is given time. The Rams O-line only gave up one sack Sunday against the Seahawks, but Bulger missed several wide open receivers. Who cares how much Bulger makes? It's the performance ON THE FIELD-- not the player's salary-- that should dictate who gets to start. So-- and I can't believe I'm saying his-- I agree with Linehan's decision to bench Bulger in favor of Trent Green.
Posted Friday September 19, 2008, About: Brewers-Giants trade brewing?
You sure Gammons wasn't talking about his fantasy baseball league? That sounds unbelievable, trading two All-Star sluggers for a guy who pitches every fifth day... and, like any pitcher, is always just one pitch away from a visit to Dr. Jobe or Dr. Andrews.
