I'd be shocked if baseball contracted now. They had the perfect opportunity to do this a few years ago when the league was totally in control of the Expos, but they chose not to.
If you're wanting to add two more teams to make an even number in each league, I say somewhere in the Carolinas for one and San Antonio or Las Vegas for the other.
Agreed. While we're at it, let's move the Cardinals from Arizona back to St. Louis, the Titans back to Houston (and rename them the Oilers), the Colts back to Baltimore, the Ravens back to Cleveland (and rename them the Browns). Once all of those errors are rectified, then the league will have to decide where to move the current Browns (because Cleveland doesn't need two teams) and Texans (ditto Houston).
Deep pockets? I'm pretty sure Stan Kroenke is the wealthiest owner in the NFL. And the Rams will be $30-40 million under the salary cap in this upcoming offseason, so I'm not sure how the Dolphins get classified as having deeper pickets.
I have the solution here... A 17-game schedule, with each team playing one "neutral site" game each year. That would add an additional 16 games to the schedule... play four in Tokyo, four in London, four in Germany (two in Berlin, two in Frankfort) and four in L.A.
Add an extra bye week and eliminate two preseason games, and playing an extra game (even if it is overseas) won't be nearly the additional burden that an 18-game schedule would be.
Rams have allowed 20 sacks this season. That's 14th in the league, which puts them in the top 1/2. Not awesome, but the OL clearly isn't the glaring weakness that it was for the Rams in the past.
