They lost 10 games in a row, and saw their lead over St. Louis disappear completely. When it was all said and done, the Cardinals were 93-69, and the Phillies were 92-70. The agonizing collapse crippled baseball in Cheesesteak Town for more than a dozen years. The team wouldn't return to the postseason until the 1976 Phillies won the National League East.
That was awesome too!!!
"I've got a great deal of respect for the game, and I don't think that's the place for a curtain call."
... Good for you Delgado

Actually its another example of how fans of NY teams pay attention. The guy has been miserable so far this year (and last year!) and this was his SECOND homerun of the game against a division rival. Regardless of whether or not Delgado wanted to give them a curtain call, I dont think cheering for one makes you a moron. But thinking that way about NY fans might just make you one
His hitting worried me, sounds like it hasnt changed much. Hopefully he can turn that around

Dont look now Norman, but youre doing the same thing you jus accused everyone else of doing. Dope

This group should have a Zzzzz-Men day
What do you want to do with Delgado though?
Whalers | 04/25/08, 12:03 PM
Thanks Whalers, appreciate it.
Sorry to ruin your day bkg320, but I have to address his Delgado question. I think that Delgado is a serviceable 1st baseman and our only option at the moment anyways. He makes a LOT of money so the spotlight is on him to perform. Unfortuantely, he cant perform up to those expectations. But for now, we have to accept him for what he is and mull our options at a later date.

The name. Let me know when he does that other thing
TheMorg | 04/25/08, 10:10 AM
So why do they keep giving big money to bad pitchers?
THE TRUTH | 04/25/08, 09:40 AM
Tough call. Bush went looking for something that was never there (WMD's) and Selig never went looking for something that was right in front of his face (PED's)
Sweetheart Tiffany | 04/24/08, 01:09 PM
what you need is a new 1st baseman to root for. Delgado is done
