are those two guys not playing for Montreal presently? Bob Gainey is no fool. He probably will want to trade Gill and O'Brien for them.

Posted Monday September 28, 2009, About: Kovalev fumbled Canadiens offer
#22 seems to give the most rational ane unbiased opinion if Gainey' s endeavor. Price is not the goaler that was supposed to be. Gainey fired or exchange all of old including the goaler trainer. That is almost a power trip. But Gomez is up in age, is he not? For 8 million he better be good. He is being paid twice the salary of Kovalev. Sergii K. is already demoted to Hamilton Bulldogs (not the Hamilton Phoenix). He is the most electrifying player on the team. He is the one that sparks the 07-08 team. Martin should have sent him for medical attention on his rebellious nature. But he is a natural.

What did R??jean Houle could have done worst than completely remove the CH identity from the Team. That is the way I feel anyway. I remember the series Montreal-Detroit back in 1951. First time I saw hockey on TV. Gainey has broken an unwritten rule: you cannot get rid of the squad and think you are a hero. The fans are still the clients.
Posted Sunday September 27, 2009, About: Kovalev fumbled Canadiens offer
gainey should have kept the team he had two years ago. He should have listen to Carb and have Halak as #1 goaler. Need to find out who was the s..disturber and get rid of them. Demote Carb and replace him with Martin. Kovalev would still be there, happy like a pig in a mud hole. In my opinion, Gainey destroyed a good team and he will go down in history as the worst GM, Montreal ever had. This is what we call vision 20/20 when we look behind. Shame on Gainey. I like Kovalev and he is popular with the fans there.

very true. another city who wants a club is Quebec City
Posted Saturday September 05, 2009, About: Sens captain wants Heatley gone
it is also in the ottawa local paper.
must clean the air before the season start. a player had to do it and it was alfie's task.
heatley, i hope he stays. but unhapiness seems to be rampant in ottawa. we had a unhappy goaler , forgot his name, at one time. it may be the water we take from the ottawa river which is downstream from a nuclear station or else .....anyway there is two gangs near the river that are no good example for the team. these gangs are always fighting verbally at each other. one we call the lower chamber or legislative assembly the other is the higher chamber, where our friend past coach jacques demers has been appointed recently. it is also called the senate
and the members are called senators.....same as the hockey team.
Posted Tuesday August 25, 2009, About: Richard: Canadiens don't need captain
I cannot see the old brass approving a change like Gainey did. I do not understand the works of Gainey unless he is still in shock due to the deaths of his wife and daughter in a short time. I am a longtime partisan of the Canadians and what Gainey did to the present brass of players was a low blow. All the young french canadians that he let go. This is a nono in Montreal. To me he has done enough harm in his tenure as GM. He fires Julien to make room for Carbo then fires Carbo, He did not do any better behind the bench. I have no faith in his new team. With Kovalev and Kamisarek gone there is no more a CH brass to make us proud and hopeful. I( wonder if others think like I do. There is no need for a C until that individual shows up.
Posted Tuesday August 25, 2009, About: Will Bertuzzi be 'toxic' as Red Wing?
Betuzzi is one of the top forward in NHL. His predicament with Moore may make him less effective. This was an event that ruined two players or almost. I wish Bertuzzi get the recognition he deserves.

I would keep them both but could let go Bedard to Mets. He could bring them a championship.

It would be nice that CH stays with Canadian ownership.

Should have thought about it. Organized crime amongst some players
Posted Friday February 20, 2009, About: Inside Canadiens-Kovalev saga
Today my friends there will be a big shake up in the make up of the team. My bet is that Price may be traded, Koivu will be exchanged and Kovalev becomes Captain. Huet might come back. There is a clique on the team that fly high. It may involve many players. There is also a clique in the lower management and they reinforced lately with Mathieu Snyder. Old bodies along with Brisebois, the coaching staff and general manager. The constant changing of lines might have been the deterrent to find out who the clique was, Two of them are lately been demoted back to the AHL. We must not forget that the executive director or man on top is Pierre Boivin and not Gainey. Jacques Demers said that in all of the history of CH, he has never seen the shake up that will happen tomorrow. He said read the papers tomorrow. Bob Hartley and Michel Bergeron were of the same thought. For sure Laraque is not part of the clique.
Posted Tuesday November 18, 2008, About: NHL warns headhunters
This is an exerpt from Scott Stevens from his Hall of Fame induction:
"The captain took on an increased role as inspirational leader of the Devils, who won the Stanley Cup in 1995. The Devils players and fans were galvanized by Stevens' thundering hits on opponents; key psychological elements in the victory. New Jersey won the Stanley Cup again in 2000 and 2003. While Stevens had been a star in the NHL for many years, including All-Star nods in 1996-97 and 2000-01, the 2000 playoffs must be considered Scott's defining moment. His thunderous checks, most notably on Eric Lindros in the semifinals, both inspired and dominated the post-season, and when his Devils won the Cup there was no question that he would be chosen winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player in the post-season.

Stevens again hoisted the Stanley Cup in 2003, and again was noted for delivering gigantic bodychecks. But although he had gained a reputation as an NHL Iron Man, having played 22 seasons in the NHL and regularly been among the leaders in games played, coming off his third Stanley Cup victory, Stevens' hard-nosed style caught up with him. He missed the majority of the 2003-04 season with post-concussion syndrome. On September 6, 2005, Scott Stevens was forced to retire."

Stevens gave concussions to a lot of players by hitting them "neat" on the head. And he still made it into the Hall of Fame. Where do you draw the line, Mr Campbell?

the journalist should have known that Tiger, the philosopher, does not like hockey. Hey! much too rough for the feeble of heart.
Posted Saturday June 07, 2008, About: Penguins player revolt looming?
Toronto Star is a respected daily. Therrien may be a little on the harsh side and he may have hurt feelings of the young. Another younger Keenan maybe.
He sure made those guys look good, did he not? Forging a winning team is great matter. Bringing that team to the finals is beyond words.
Ottawa Senators probably would want him badly, Toronto also maybe enough to start a rumor.
Posted Sunday June 01, 2008, About: Lecavalier wants long-term deal
PopKing: Lecavalier would never play in Montreal. First Gainey will not want him, too expensive and he is french canadian. Himself would not like the pressure of Montreal. But he is the player that reminds me the most of Maurice Richard's attitude and play.
Posted Sunday June 01, 2008, About: Agent: Fedorov seeks Caps return
Fedorov is considered the best Russian player to ever play in NHL. He looks happy playing in Washington with Semin and Ovechkin. He likes Huet as all Russian love frenchmen. He is Mr. Russian Experience. Please give the contract to this future hall of famer
Posted Wednesday May 28, 2008, About: Laraque unhappy with scratch
To Therrien Rocks:

I know Laraque and Roberts are on the same team. It does not make sense what I wrote. I just do not know where to let go my anger at Roberts for such a cheap shot.
Laraque is a clean player and should be ashamed at Roberts for being so mean. Who else would give a lesson to Roberts? And this has to be an internal affair. Good thing Lemieux is there to watch.
Detroit is a dream team. No wonder the Swedes lost at the WC. The Russians would have been beaten terribly if they had played Detroit.
Posted Tuesday May 27, 2008, About: Laraque unhappy with scratch
If I were Therrien: I would reinstate Laraque and have him check the Swedes, especially Kromwall. Bench Adam Hall. He is a much cleaner player than "Bertuzzi-like" Roberts or Witney.
What about Sydor: is he hurt or a healthy scratch. If the latter he should be playing. Leave Roberts. He is true grit. If he sucker punch Franzen again let Laraque give Roberts a lesson he won't forget.
