It doesn't matter if I "need" an AR-15 or not. The word "need" is not in the 2nd Amendment. If need is the determiner of what the government will allow us to have, then we are not free and the constitution means nothing. Nobody needs alcohol, cars that go 100mph or 3,000 sq foot houses. Should they also be outlawed for the common good? Nope. Worst deal ever was the deal the Vikings made with Dallas to get Hershel Walker.

Second worst was the deal between Washington and Cleveland back in 1988/89. The Browns sent Earnest Byner to DC where he made the pro bowl twice and had four 1,000+ yard seasons. The 'skins sent Mike Oliphant to Cleveland where he ran for 97 yards over two years then was gone from the league.
