A USC player takes golf cart ride to his next class with a student (who later was discovered to be a registered agent but without the knowledge of the player or USC ) and gets in trouble and a Duke players purchase over $100K in jewelry and walks....

What a joke the NCAA is. They need to dissolve this organization and start from scratch.

I dont think the monetary value is the issue. It could be $100 vs $100k. Improper benefits is improper benefits.

The wannabe agents have no ties to USC (ala boosters or coaches) versus OSU and Jim Tressel, who holds a "managerial" position at the school. He was in a position of control and made an attempt to cover up the scandal. (sorry...all my years in dealing with attorneys)

It definitely put the whole punishment-fit-the-crime into perspective.

USC got hosed, no doubt about it, and they were made an example for future NCAA violators.

It obviously did not work.

Agree..that part is more easy to prove. I am sure the professors have alot more integrity than the coaches.

If the NCAA can somehow get them to talk, the truth will come out.
