Lakers need to get some savvy, battle tested veterans who can contrbute as role players. Guys like, Shaw, Fox, Horry, Fisher, Harper, Horace Grant. All these guys helped win 3 straight championships. Remember those days, Laker fans?! Who brought those guys in, yes, Jerry West.

Trade for another big time, impact player who can take the pressure off Kobe and some great, veteran role players who want to win now.

Bring back Jerry West, then acquire:

Gasol
Artest
Mo Williams

These are the 4 major acquisitions the Lakers need this off season. If West says trade Bynum, so be it, cause I trust Jerry and by trading Bynum and filler for Gasol, we would get a sure thing start player for a teenager with potential. Unfortunately, potential does not win championships in the here and now.

The trade for Odom and Caron was not that bad at all. It was accepting Brian Grant's nasty contract and then trading Caron for Kwame when Phil hadn't had the chance to work with Caron. Look at where Caron is now and where Kwame is at. The guys in the Wizards front office are laughing their **** off.

I'm not sure if West would have have done that deal for Shaq. First off, I don't think West have traded Shaq at all and would have told that whining fat a... to work it out with Kobe. Next, I don't think West would have signed off on Caron for Kwame. West is a great judge of talent and can see through players whether they are truly committed to winning. Caron would have been major help for Kobe.

I say bring West back at all costs and let him work his magic!

First off, Kobe will never be traded period. He shouldn't and absolutely will not. Second, bring Jerry West back as a consultant and whatever he says goes. Remember, the last 3 championships the Lakers won, who put that team together? That's right, the Logo himself. Bring him back and if he feels it would be wise to trade Bynum now, then I say, let's do it because I know whatever deal he puts together for Bynum will eventually yield some more rings for Kobe.

One HUGE plus for bringing Wets back is, Kobe loves and worships him. Who did Kobe say he called when he was pondering whether to re-sign with the Lakers or elsewhere, yes, the Logo himself. Kobe, West and Phil equals rings.
