You know what bugs me about this story? The headline. It makes it SOUND like he's making excuses. And when it really comes down to it. he just said he was careless and that he'd learned from it. I despise whoever writes headlines.

Ricky rules. Im sorry if he "TOOK WEED" which you nerds seem to think is reason enough to label him. It's a shame the man people dog-on the most is the one that was the most honest. RUN RICKY RUN!

Ricky has made some bad decisions and been caught in them, I suspect because he is not the shifty eyed thug/gangster that some of the others who smoke weed in the leugue are and wasn't trying to game the system so much. I think Ricky's just living his life and accepting whatever consequences there are for that. I see that more as a sign of strength than weakness or 'loser' syndrome. I hope he's got himself in a good place and plays for a few more good years. Besides, he really helped my fantasy team back in the day, and that's what's really important to us, isn't it?

What I dont' understand is why the Packers didn't just say "well.... uhhhh... Brett, you know we made a lot of moves assuming you were retired. But yeah, you know... if you want to come back, come back and you can compete with Aaron for the job. But we're going to need you to toe the company line that it's an open competetion", etc. etc. I think it's ludicrous for the Packers to think that either Aaron Rodgers, or either of the two new guys deserves to get the job ahead of Favre, regardless of his flipflopping. It's not like they weren't aware he is wishy washy about leaving the game.
