Right, except that he has more ALCS game winning hits than anyone on the Yankees does... oh that's right, you would have to make it to the ALCS first, wouldn'tcha?

Im pretty sure the Brewers dont need any more coaches, but I hear they are in the market for a Manager.

Posted Monday September 29, 2008, About: Three teams lining up for Lowe?
Given the fact Schilling didn't throw a single pitch in 2008, I'm not sure why his retirement would cause the Sox to need another pitcher.
Posted Monday September 29, 2008, About: Three teams lining up for Lowe?
Actually, if you followed them before they won the WS, you would know that even though he had some success and failures in Boston, he was positively terrible as a SP in 2004 and was sent to the bullpen for the '04 playoffs. Everyone appreciates that he came up big when plugged in to spots in those playoffs, but the fact is both his awful reg season and off the field exploits with drinking and cheating on the wife, made him get a one way ticket out of town. They didnt even offer him a contract after winning all 3 clinching games in the '04 postseason. There is ZERO chance he comes back, and really, he should stay away from the AL anyway. LA or St Louis is perfect for him. Love ya, DLowe, but no return engagements in Beantown.

Hmm... how many World Series has Beane won? Zero. Who was the Yanks' MVP in the 90's WS winning teams? Rivera. Who was the real Red Sox 2 WS MVPs? Foulke and Papelbon. Sorry, but if making the playoffs alone isn't enough and you want to win it, you must have a serious closer. hey who was that stud reliever for that only Angel WS winning team again...?

Was that a "Chrome Hearts" shirt? High-end motorcycle style shirts with "F--- You" in old Englsh on them, they have a store in NYC. I wonder if she just threw on her cool $200 T shirt and didnt even realize what was on the back?

Dunedan, are you really comparing Manny "The World Series MVP for the World Champion Red Sox" to Alex "Mr April, All My Teams Succeed After I Leave .200 Hitter in October While the Yanks Fold In The Playoffs Again" Rodriguez?????

Please.

Glimberis, what does Freddy Sanchez have to do with the Beckett trade?
Posted Monday June 25, 2007, About: Red Sox front-runner for Buehrle
Hyper and 2F, I think you are both off the mark on Schilling. He said he will pitch next year... for somebody. He prefers to pitch for the Sox, but was unsuccessful in signing a contract in ST because Theo isnt interested in paying $13M for a physically declining 40+ year old, even if we owe him for '04. Recently he reitereated he would sign for the $13m he makes now... just before his shoulder crapped out. No deal, no way.
Id love to see him back (mmm, maybe) but I don't think the deal gets done.
Posted Friday June 22, 2007, About: B's interested in Wild goalie
Thomas is awful. Worst technical goalie I've ever seen at a professional level. This team must get an NHL goalie or they have no chance.
Posted Friday June 22, 2007, About: Bruins first to unveil new Reebok uni
I wonder how many people know that along with the full jersey being switched to the Bobby Orr-era styling, the actual "B" in the center of the logo is the B style used much earlier, in the 50's I think. Nice touch, good job.

Now get a goalie.

I wonder how many people notice that not only are they using the Bobby Orr-era jersey design, but the "B" in the center of the logo is the style they used back in the 50's or so. Nice touch. Good job.

Now get a goalie.
Posted Sunday June 17, 2007, About: Hull finished as NBC analyst?
He was just terrific. Insightful, not bashful about opinions, not afraid to be wrong. This will be a shining example about why the NHL will continue to fail in the media... dumping the best on-air guy since Cherry.

Johanson... while I agree with you, people who capitalize the first letter of every word are psychotic. Stop it.
Posted Tuesday June 12, 2007, About: Bruins to trade goalie for higher pick?
If the Bruins don't find a way to replace Tim Thomas, they will never have any chance of significant improvement. This guy, while likable, is the most overmatched obviously in-over-his-head **** Wee level goalie that is mistakenly employed by a so-called major league team. He continues to fool the people who know nothing about goaltending with his ridiculous circus saves on routine shots, poor rebound control, nonexistent angles and compltely unprofessional play. Goal after goal while the idiots nod their heads and say, "ooh, another one that wasn't his fault! Great save before that though." Bruins! Find a real NHL goalie!!! Look at JS Gigiuere... in position... under control... no overacting and silly flopping around. Thomas is flat out embarrassing.
Posted Tuesday June 12, 2007, About: Emery could leave Senators
Emery gave up a soft goal almost every game in the Finals, but he wasn't the reason they lost. He was clearly outplayed by the far superior Guiguere, but the Ducks physically crushed the will out of the high-flying Sens forwards, who could easily have covered for the occasional Emery gaffe with a little goal-scoring.
It is true, however, that in the days of LaLime, et al, their failures were directly responsible of the weak goaltending.
Posted Friday June 01, 2007, About: Angry Jays claim A-Rod interference
Arod is absolutely facinating in that he is the most talented player in mlb, yet he continues to act like a whiny spoiled cluless idiot. Every team he leaves suddenly has success. Scrappy .250 hitting 150 lb second basemen need to slap people's gloves and shout "mine" like a Little Leaguer to stay in the league. AROD is mlb royalty and should be above that foolishness.
Maybe if he could find a way to squeeze out a single or 2 in October instead of some meaningless HRs in April he wouldn't feel so stressed.
Posted Friday June 01, 2007, About: Will Giguere fly from Ducks?
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with Hank's comments. As a goalie from the 70's who actually used to wear Gump Worsley-esque equipment, I don't think that's relevant if you aren't making every other goalie in today's NHL wear the same equipment, and THEN comparing JS to them.
Im not a huge JS fan, except that I love his economy of motion, in position/in control style in letting the puck hit him. He is such the 180 degree opposite of the **** wee goalie my Bruins have (Tim Thomas) who jumps around like a little kid in street hockey and makes every single save look hard, while impressing people who know nothing about goaltending with his spectacular saves.
I do think JS would be making an enormous mistake leaving a team with 2 Norris Trophy candidates in front of him, though.
Posted Wednesday May 23, 2007, About: Hull thinks 'terrible' Anaheim is done
Right or wrong, Hull is a superb addition for the NHL broadcasts. Every single player and coach looks like he's been whipped by the NHL to say the same boring, canned, politically correct tripe during every interview, even the incredibly stupid ones done at the teams' benches during play. (XFL, anyone?)
Hull is interesting enough to have the experience and insight of an ex-pro/future HOF'er, but is an opinionated big mouth enough to keep everyone watching entertained. The only people who whine are the ones who are fans of whatever team he takes a shot at. Hey, try lightening up!
Great job, NHL, in keeping Hull front and center.
(and no, I am not a fan of any team he played for.)
