Agreed. The big names generate the interest in the event but it's often some of the lesser known guys that pull off some WTF move that makes your jaw drop.

Rough numbers...

Pay-Per-View level events about 15 times a year (usually there's a title fight at the top of the card or at least a number 1 contender's match like earlier tonight)
Major Fox Network events will be on 4 times per year.
Smaller cards on cable TV every 2 weeks or so.

Fights are 3 rounds - 5 minutes per round.
Title fights (and some non-title main events) are 5 rounds rather than 3.

An event is usually made up of 10-12 different fights. The top 5 fights make up the "main card".

Yeah, it's normal to go through phases. Everytime I try to list my top 25, the list is a little different.
