I don't know what all went on behind the scenes, but it all started when Kiffin wanted to let Rob Ryan go and bring in his father to be the DC. It seemed like Rob Ryan had already contacted Eric Mangini with the Jets at the time looking for a job before anything was said to Davis about it, but once it was, Davis said that Ryan would be back for the last year on his contract. After that, the Davis vs Kiffin feud began. After Ryan left this year to join Mangini in Cleveland I almost think that it was Al Davis was the problem and not Kiffin.

It is rumored that TO will sign with somebody by the end of this week. They will not reveal who they've visited with, but Redskins and Raiders are the rumored teams. The Raiders are saying no to TO. As much as the Redskins dropped on Albert Haynesworth, I wonder if they have enough cap space to land TO.

Yeah I remember that @SSclown allright...He was one of my favorite WRs in the nfl before coming to Oakland. I was extremely excited when he joined us, but when he quit trying and betrayed the RaiderNation with his "I play when I want to" attitude, he became my most hated NFL WR and when he was dealt to the patriots and became the best WR in the NFL again I really hated him and the patriots and there was nothing sweeter for their perfect season that year to fall appart in the superbowl.

Actually he started as a DE and then an OLB in a 3-4 then an OLB in a 4-3, then back to DE in a 4-3 and then to DT. I think he would've had a better career if they would've left him at DE the whole time. What really hurt his progression was when Bobby Hamilton was signed and overshadowed him.

Chris Simms and Cedric Benson are two of the worst Texas offensive players to come out of UT during that era. I played against Benson and Roy Williams in high school and I knew right away that Williams would be a future NFL star. Benson could run people over in HS, but he still tries to do that now in the NFL all the time. He just don't play smart football and still looks like he's on the HS level; even when he was in college.

He better prove to be the real deal this year. He has had one good season and so far the secondary seems to be sleeping this year. The only one with an INT is Stanford Routt and he's actually a reserve. The rest of our INTs were by our oustanding linebacking duo of Tom Howard and Kirk Morrison. Those two guys came from their draft positions and contributed immediatly...They are the ones we should secure for the future.

This is getting ridiculous. To me it's obvious that Russell doesn't want to be a Raider; he just wants a big NFL contract. If he wants to play he'll negotiate. If he doesn't, then he'll sit until they offer him what he wants or go into next year's draft and get taken late and sign for nothing.

Timinator you are thinking about Barry Sims....Like dougsomers said, we could've done better in that draft. We could've had Ben Rothlesberger, Larry Fitzgerald, Tatum Bell, Julius Jones, or even my former HS arch rival Roy Williams
