It wouldn't faze me if they traded the Spaniard for a pack of smokes...
Anyway, Obinna is a talented guy, but only skill-wise. His attitute can be flicky and his understanding of team work is almost non-existent...
Napoli is setting up a good team endeed: they'll keep Hamsik, address the goalkeeper issue and landed Cigarini, De Ceglie and Quagliarella already (1 and 2 play for Italy's Unter 21 squad, Quagliarella is a home town boy and regurarly suits up for international games).
Besides, they left the US years ago...
Anyway the no. 13 will not move: the young guy, Santon, will take the left fullback spot.
Of course if they deal Ibrahimovic the whole picture changes...
Besides, late news seems to have Ribery landing in Barcelona: having Messi on the other side of the pitch kinda helps your dribbling chances...
Eto'o's contract expires in 2010 and they've been trying to agree with him for, like, 18 months: that's why. Besides, Samuel is an amazing striker - far better than Ibrahimovic at scoring - but Zlatan in an amazing all-around forward. Anyway, that was just a deal "that make sense"; I wasn't presuming to wrap up details...
@ J.HOVA: DIPLOMAT
Man U will lose Tevez, and might lose C.Ronaldo too: they need a striker (Berbatov doesn't come close to Ibrahimovic any way you take him). Eto'o might leave too, just as stated above.
I totally agree with you on Torres, that's why I mentioned cash consideration the only reason Liverpool might consider that deal (if you red about Premier League's money troubles - it was discussed in the Parliament, no less - you know that English team's rule of big cash trades might be over already, and that Liverpool doesn't have Abramovic nor Man U's merchandising).
still, Ibrahimovic is making a statement of moving to try and get Champions League/Ballon D'Or caliber (as if he ever decided any match in that competition or just scored on that big chance he had at Old Trafford) - which means he would sign for:
1. Real Madrid
2. Barcelona
3. Manchester United
4. Liverpool
5. Chelsea
You also have to think about Inter's point of view. I mean; are they going to rip their hair off no to sell the guy? No. Are they going to agree to a deal worth less than 70 million Euros? No way in Hell. So the safe bet is, Zlatan will stay put.
If you still think that it might happen, here's a few deals that make sense for all involved (I'm assuming no one will pay the whole thing cash):
1. Ibrahimovic to Madrid for cash and Sneijder (40%, more so if Perez fails to land Ronaldo or Kak??)
2. Ibrahimovic to Barcelona for cash and Eto'o (30%)
3. Ibrahimovic to Man U for cash and Anderson (25%)
4. Ibrahimovic and cash to Liverpool Torres (5%, IF they need money and IF Benitez agrees)
5. Ibrahimovic to Chelsea for cash and cash (I honestly can't place a percentage on this one...)
Anyway, Barca would be a favourite to land him even if other big teams step up in the race
Stoudemire unwillingness to play D just passed the 3-coach deadline...
With 30 teams in the league if you're lucky enough to get enough talent to compete, your GM just has to get you 5 guys in the 9-man rotation who are willing to fight any given minute of play...
Lee, Jeffries and Rose (Malik) for Hinrich and Thomas would hurt the Knicks only a little (they could trade again) but would definately be an huge upside in talent...
Fact is, what LA wants (expiring contracts and picks) it's usually more common in losing teams which are low on 35 year old players wish list...
What about Portland? A Davis-Camby combo would place the Blazers as contenders and they can deal out Rodriguez and Przybilla, along with LaFrentz and Diogu expiring contrat and a pick...
Davis, Roy, Webster, Aldridge, Camby with Bayless, Fernandez, Batum, Outlaw and Oden out of the bench is quite scary and the Clippers would save a lot of money...
