first of all, he scored after the whistle, so you can't really call it a "score". Gio was also called offside in a clear goal opportunity and he wasn't, why not look at that?
Posted Friday August 14, 2009, About: Howard: Ref tilted in Mexico's favor
I can only remember one slide by Guardado that merited a yellow and didn't get. Other than that, I have no idea what anyone is talking about about one-sided calls. You must have watched a completely different game if you think otherwise, if not, point out concrete examples!

I am also pretty sick of people generalizing the bad behavior of Mexican fans at the stadium to call millions of fans not there classless.

Of those injuries, the only one that was a surprised was Nelson, and he wasn't the reason the Magic lost. When you build a roster around veterans, injury prone players or with a lot a mileage, you cannot complain about injuries! They are expected!

... how long ago those days Yankee fans insisted on a package around Milky Cabrera for Johan Santana seem, we all saw how overrated Milky was
Posted Friday January 02, 2009, About: Source: Red Sox out of Lowe chase
Getting Lowe is the kind of move that could get the Yanks to the top of the AL East, but they won't do it ... Lowe for $36/3yr is a great sign, the only reason he hasn't sign yet is because he wanted to go back to the Sox badly, if the Sox did not want him he wants to be Yankee and make the Sox regret it ... Red Sox / Yankees, those are the only teams in Lowe's mind, any others are just backup plans, while he might sign with the Mets, I don't see him fitting in the Met clubhouse, he'll regret leaving LA

Zambrano + Bradley + Pinella = Fun ... why cant they trade for Schilling?
Posted Wednesday December 31, 2008, About: Has Bears GM opened door for McNabb, Cassel?
Team cannot trade for a QB making 14 million without serious restructuring of the team, so if there is trade I doubt it would happen during the season ... in fact I doubt you can trade such a high contract even late in the offseason
Posted Wednesday December 31, 2008, About: Sources: Cowher didn't want to coach Favre
The Packers did not lose games because of lack of offense, their defense took a huge step back. If you want to claim it was because of Favre's leadership the Packer defense did bad be my guest, keep living in the fantasy that "Favre can do no bad, all the good is do to him and all the bad due to the team". By all accounts Green Bay is better off than if Favre had stayed around, than in a better position to win it all in the coming years.
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Possible Dodgers-Yankees deal
of course I was talking about last season, everyone has former players of other teams

Wilson Betemit, Kevin Brown, Alex Cora, Dave Roberts, JD Drew are former Dodgers that played for NY/BOS and you are not calling them the Dodgers retirement home
Posted Tuesday December 09, 2008, About: Possible Dodgers-Yankees deal
the only former Yanks and Sox starters were Manny and Lowe ... not exactly at "retirement" age

The question is not whether C.C. can pitch right now, the question is for how long? His body type is not meant for the long haul, he could start to see a decline in a couple of years ... that aside from the fact that there is a long history of pitchers fading away as soon as they sign a big long term deal, and C.C. doesn't strike me as a guy with the work ethic and competitiveness. to remain pitching at full potential .. I hope the Yanks sign him because I dont think is going to work out .

Claussen has a boy's body in a men's game. That can be OK in high school and to a point in college, but my feeling this kid isn't going to have much success .... so yes, I think he is way overrated
Posted Monday August 04, 2008, About: Source: Favre has chance to start
just because Favre is competing doesnt mean the job is his ... the ultimate humiliation would be for Brett to lose the job to Aaron on open competion
Posted Wednesday July 23, 2008, About: Braves trading Teixeira to Angels?
All I know is Wood is hitting a buck thirty in limited action over two seasons

... yeah, on less than 100 sporadic at bats. If you want to make your judgement on a 23 yr old based on that be my guest, but no GM would do that ... btw, for all you other morons, I am not comparing Brandon Wood to Tex, I am comparing him to the alternative of not doing nothing and getting a draft pick which statistically has very little odds of working out
Posted Wednesday July 23, 2008, About: Braves trading Teixeira to Angels?
Bruin: you still haven't responded to the fact that almost the entire team is from draft picks

the Braves get about 60 draft picks a year, thats +400 the last 7 yrs, of course there team is made up from draft picks!! the question is how is one more draft pick between 32-40 a big deal, the answer is, it is not. The odds of one of those picks turning out into something better than Brandon Wood are actually pretty low ... but don't worry, this is way over your head, I understand that now

and yes, you must be dumb to compare a 1st or 5th OVERALL pick to a 32-40, so stop keep bringing Chipper and Tex, the Braves are not getting a TOP 5 pick from this!! ... the Braves have made a bunch of 2-3th round picks over the years, only a few of those are actually on the team, and of those probably one or two is any better than the Brandon Wood
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Braves trading Teixeira to Angels?
What is so great about the Braves players you mentioned? I already said you can take Teixeira and Chipper out of the picture, you must be dumb to compare a TOP 5 pick to a 30-40. And bringing out Hudson in the 6th round and players in later rounds only SUPPORT MY argument. Getting a 30-40 pick means nothing because the MLB draft is unpredictable, you can get great players in late rounds. They already have about 60 picks, so getting one more 30-40 is at most like playing the lottery.

As far AAA not translating into MLB talent, sure it doesn't all the time, but is MUCH BETTER than a draft pick translating into MLB talent ... is not even close. By the way, you can bring all the specific examples you want, this a numbers game, one guy like Nelson doesn't matter ... oh, and you still haven't answer the question of how many busts are there for every McCann
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Braves trading Teixeira to Angels?
Chipper was the 1ST OVERALL PICK Teixeira was the 5TH OVERALL PICK, so you must be the "dufus" to even bring them in the conversation, we are talking about a 32-40 pick here!! ... so how many busts are they for every McCann? answer that genious and then tell me the draft picks are that important
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Braves trading Teixeira to Angels?
I sure hope were here 6 yrs from now to look at how your "draft picks" turn out
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Braves trading Teixeira to Angels?
yes, I can't believe someone would say "its a factor"
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Braves trading Teixeira to Angels?
are you saying a draft pick is better than a Brandon Wood? You might as well buy a lottery ticket .. to be cash in 5 yrs from now if you are lucky to win
Posted Tuesday July 22, 2008, About: Braves trading Teixeira to Angels?
Yes, Atlanta would get "virtually nothing" for Teixeira because if they don't trade him then they would get nothing

Virtually nothing > Nothing

How hard is that to understand?
