It is an expression that is used throughout journalism. If you don't believe me just Google "tighten the noose" and look at the thousands of articles that are pulled up that discuss events all over the world. Just because the article deals with a black man we have to change the entire wording of what journalists normally use? Get over it. Al Sharpton is just a media **** that does whatever he can to receive attention.

Um these are new coaches and the defensive coach (Bill Young) is in his first year with Miami. They dropped out of prominence during the Coker era. Since Shannon took over he has highly touted recruits coming in and he is starting to turn the program back in the right direction. I agree with the article. It is not all the coaches. It is Nix. Most are going to give him this year before they start calling for his head.

I am a die-hard Cane and this talk of running up the score is just retarded. Like this poster stated, back when we were a national contender year in and year out we would just destroy teams. Now that someone kicked a field goal we cry foul? Quit making yourselves look stupid. Did you just become a Cane fan this decade? Go back and check our history and see how badly we beat some teams. Check the Cotton Bowl game versus Texas in 1991. Did we show them mercy? We hung with the #5 team in the nation for 3 1/2 quarters. We will be back sooner than expected.

Avery is just the starting point in my opinion. This team needs a complete overhaul. They never recovered from Miami a few years ago and Golden State was the final blow to their heart. It might be time to restart from the ground up.

After the season he had this past year you say he is 4 years overdue for retirement? You are a moron who probably doesn't even watch football. Favre is not a top 3 or top 5 QB of all time in my opinion but he is definitely one of the all time greats and a fierce competitor. Someone who is a 3-time MVP with all of the records he holds and the championships is not overrated. You just have some dumb blind hatred for him.

I've said this from the get go. Phillips is just a placeholder till Garrett is ready to become head coach. I would at least keep Phillips for a few more years so Garrett can become fully aquainted but make no mistake that Wade won't be around long.
