Sure, Carr didn't leave the cupboard bare, but coaching changes affect recruiting. We lost a few recruits in the change-over, both typical Carr recruits that would have come if Carr stayed, and recruits that would have come to RichRod if he had been there. For example, as much as he's public enemy #1 now, Boren would be a nice addition to get the push for Minor, Brown and Smith.

That being said, most of RichRod's DB recruits aren't on the field. Lots of key defensive red shirts... lets hope they pan out because Warren, Graham, the O-line are all Carr guys and are all the guys that are the bright spots currently...

I feel ya. It sucks right now. ND cant give UM crap, since their the one highpoint during Rich Rod's tenure, but its certainly not like we can say much either...

Big 10 needs a healthy Michigan, just like Michigan needs a healthy ND...

Its gonna be a big weekend for Blue! My prediction:

- UM: 74 OSU: 0
- Report in Freep reveals the nature of extra "practice " were actually calculus and premed study sessions.
- Justin Feagin mix up is resolved when its revealed the whole situation was a charity stunt gone wrong
- We finally realize that the secondary portion of our roster was inadvertantly swapped for the soccer team's backfield roster
- We find out that Rich Rod lawyers were actually trying to figure out a way to donate more money to WV since they felt so bad.
- Rich Rod announces that his tear filled press conference was just allergies, and Zyrtec has solved that problem.
- RichRod lands verbal intents from 30 out of the top 50 recruits in the nation.

Did I say prediction? I meant minimum standard for RROD keeping his job...

Really? We can't just respect Hossa for wanting to win a title with us. He did after all lead us to home ice for the stanley cup by leading the team in scoring. While he certainly didnt show up for the stanley cup finals, I'm a bit hesitant to claim he would be a liability on a roster like chicagos....

This is the 100% truth. Do I love what Rich Rods done? No, but I am scared of another 3 years switching to a new system again. But to certain extent, if the writing already on the wall for rich rod, why wait an extra 2 years to start this 3 year process? I am sympathetic to both sides arguments, have no idea really where I stand or should stand...

Thank God for our other WVU steal: John Beilein! We lost some leadership, but still have Sims and his Freshness, plus we finally have some size off the bench with cronin being back, and I will be honest, I loved our new freshman PG and that new Vogrich kid will be a ton of fun if he can live up to billing as the best pure shooter coming into college bball... he sure looked it the other night!!!

When USC loses to a celler dweller PAC-10 team in the final 2-3 weeks there is no justification for them getting to the championship game over an undefeated Big 12 and SEC team... none... plain and simple...

Second, I think your over valuing out of conference strength of schedule. The truth of the matter is teams in the SEC dont need a strong out of conference schedule... USC typically does just to get themselves into the mix... because the PAC 10 has been weak in the past decade... If your going to play that game, you gotta include every team in conferences like the MAC, who play incredibly tough out of conference schedules as money grab opportunities, and then unlike USC, still go undefeated in conference play... Why dont we celebrate those teams...? Because they play in the MAC!!!

When in the past decade did USC schedule Michigan in their season...

If you think I have a bias against irrational whiny fans... you're right...

Finally, I'm not sure what bias you think I have. I am a UM fan, and I think the Big 10 is at its weakest point in a half a century. Conferences that I used to never mention in the same breadth as the Big 10 are easily better (Big East, Big 12 - for a while now).

You are quite disillusioned or misinformed if you think UM fans didnt love him or respect him while he was here... He won us a championship, and did everything with class. Were there grumblings questioning if he could adjust to the new style of college football? Were there grumblings about his record against OSU lately? Of course! Its what EVERY football fan does. Armchair QB and coach is what we do. I bet 99% of Boston woke up Monday morning whining about how awful Belichick is, but when push comes to shove I'd bet most of patriot nation loves the guy and would be furious if the Pats fired him...

Out of conference power houses like Notre Dame?

Not to mention their bowl game has them playing the second or third best team in the big ten as a home game the past few years?

I honestly have nothing against USC. And I love what Oregon, Washingotn, Stanfords, etc. are doing rebuilding their programs.

What you learn to get sick of is the USC fans who year after year moan that they should be considered in the NC discussion after winning a home game against the third best big ten team two weeks after losing to a 2-8 Pac10 celler dweller...
