Posted Thursday February 19, 2009, About: Chargers want cheaper L.T.
Sproles is a baller, but paying him equivalent to the top 5-6 RB's ( I forgot which one is the franchise #) in the NFL is absurd. He is nowhere near that talented, and in no way whatsoever has he proved that he a durable 3-down back for an entire season.
To me, this deal, epitomizes the downfall of San Diego, and should be the final straw for the Chargers GM....
Posted Wednesday September 03, 2008, About: New Lion claims he's healthy
I don't necessarily love Rudi Johnson, but as long as he isn't taking carries from Kevin Smith and taking all the carries away from the remaining mess of RB's, Pinner, Calhoun, and Cason, then I'm happy.
Posted Thursday August 28, 2008, About: Michigan to play two QBs
And I do agree with some of you. Utah is no joke, many professionals are picking them as sleepers. Even if they can beat UofM it won't be as humiliating as there loss to App St., cause the Utes can actually be a competitive team nationally this year.
Posted Thursday August 28, 2008, About: Michigan to play two QBs
All this talk about firing RR is ridiculous. No coach can with a completely different style of play can walk into a program and have immediate perfection. He will need atleast 1-2 years to put together the players that he wants. When that does happen watch out, b/c most Big Ten teams can't hold there own against a spread offense, including the overrated Buckeyes, and that's a fact.
I don't mind him playing two QB's and I don't even think that one has to emerge as the starter. In the NCAA it has already been proven that you can win playing a rotating QB position. Granted I don't think that Michigan is going to have a stellar season, but there is no way that they will have a losing season, this isn't ND for christ's sake.
The other thing about RR is that he doesn't run a country club team like Carr did. They might not be great this season but atleast they will play with some heart and to their potential, something that can't be said about Carr's teams, especially in bowl games and against OSU.
Posted Friday August 01, 2008, About: European team may try to sign LeBron
It's enticing to think about, but I think that players of all world calibur like LeBron have more to play for than just money. Until the EuroLeague can acquire more depth and comparitive competition as the NBA has then the money won't lure everybody. Not to mention the complications with endorsement contracts moving overseas. Which up until the point when Europe can lure a real star away, will never be a problem.
Posted Saturday July 26, 2008, About: Rodriguez: Plenty of Michigan QBs
What he is really saying is that just about any offensive player with the talent to make an offensive move is probably going to get several direct snaps one way or another this year.
Posted Saturday July 26, 2008, About: Deng rejected European offer
Hank this really isn't bad for the NBA at all. It's actually quite good. The game is getting more international and Stern has a desire to go global with the NBA. The economics of it are increasing in places like Europe which only makes the game itself bigger and more popular and wealthier. If the NBA plays it out right, they could compete with the NFL in mass popularity.
Now, if Olympiacos were pulling Rose or Beasley away, or Johnson or Smith away from the Hawks, then it might start to be a problem. There are players with Childress' talent already playing in Europe, and getting paid well. He will be a good player there, even a star, neither of which he could truly compete for with the Hawks, not to mention the rest of the NBA.
Posted Friday July 18, 2008, About: Bank sues Fedorov for $2M
Wings Fan #1, not only are you absolutely right but you are pretty funny too.

Tribe 13, I like your tenacity about the FDIC onlyinsuring $100,000 if a bank fails, but it could be worse. It could be befroe the FDIC, when not a dime was insured and banks could shut their doors and keep it all. Furthermore, if you are stupid enough to keep over $100,000 in one savings account than you deserve to lose it. If you have that much money sitting around you should be investing it, atleast in something.
Posted Friday July 11, 2008, About: Pistons have interest in Delfino
Both of you are wrong. He did intend to make wholesale changes to the roster. He specifically stated that these changes would not be coming through the free agent market but through trades, bolckbuster trades. Considering that the free agent market is just getting underway, and teams are just now starting to get a glimpse of what their immediate needs are going to be, as well as the salary complications they may have, this is just the beginning. There will be changes, but not many teams are even thinking about that yet, they have to handle the free agents first.
Posted Friday July 11, 2008, About: Ugly truths about Rodriguez
The funniest thing about this article is that every OSU fan who is on here sees something related to UofM and they blog all over the post and talk their trash. It just goes to show that what everyone says is really true. OSU might have the worst fans in the country. We all know your stupid, or you would have been able to get into a better school than OSU, but that doesn't excuse you for being **** as well.

Furthermore, RR deserves a chance to actually do his job, which contrary to some peoples beliefs, has absolutely nothing to do with anything but winning football games. He could have the worst character on campus, cheat, steal, and lie, but if he starts beating ND and OSU and winning bowl games every year then nobody will care. The truth is, that at schools with the calibur of OSU, ND, and UofM, UF, etc. the football coach is the highest paid staff member of the whole university. Easily multiplying the President of the Univ.'s salary and rightfully so. These institutions, believe it or not, are all about raking in the cash. A winning football team makes way more $$$ for the school than some president is ever going to.
Posted Friday July 11, 2008, About: Tigers in no hurry for trade
EastCoastKeith, you obviously have never been to Michigan, nor do you know $#*^ about golf. Michigan has been ranked the 3rd or 4th best state for golf for several years. They have some of the country's top public golf courses as well as some very prestigious and nationally recognized private clubs. Not to mention the Buick open every year at Oakland Hills.
Posted Sunday July 06, 2008, About: Piston rethink adding Maggette
Detroit's days are far from over. Maggette is a good player. He's no superstar, but when you are picking him up as a free agent there is absolutely no question that he is improving your team. I don't see it as settling. Plus, Dumars already stated that any major changes to the core of this team would obviously come through trades, CM provides more depth and fleverage in any trade conversation.
Posted Monday June 30, 2008, About: Five teams interested in Kevin Jones
You guys are not that bright....they cut him over economics, he wasn't worth the amount of money he was in contract for b/c of the injuries/surgeries and the young draft pick Smith. If he shows well and they can resign him for a fraction of what they were going to pay him how is that possibly stupid?
Posted Tuesday June 17, 2008, About: No. 2 corner leaning to Michigan?
I might be a complete fool, but I didn't go to OSU so nevermind.....but I don't think that this thread had anything to do with Ohio State. So why are all you moron OSU fans even on here talking your smack. This kid is talented, and UofM has notoriously recruited NFL calibur CB's on their team. Not to mention Arkansas is...well, Arkansas, a great history, but when is the last time they actually won a meaningful game? Plus, their coach is going to bolt as soon as they lose or he gets offered more $$$.

I actually don't hate OSU, but as a UofM alum and living in Columbus I understand more than most about how moronic you people can be....so keep your pointless comments on OSU posts.....
Posted Tuesday June 17, 2008, About: Tigers' No. 1 catcher in '09
I always liked Inge, and was kind of upset to hear that we might lose him last offseason. He is the ultimate utility player, and can play any position on the filed at quite an elite level. And no, he is not the best hitter in the world, but he can hit it over the fence more often than others, and he's a great base-runner. I wouldn't want to see him as the full-time C though, he's too valuable at other positions. Pudge is good still, he needs more and more days off, but I just don't think that Inge is the youngster he should be grooming to kneel behind the plate when he's finally done.
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Nuggets' Camby could be on the move
but Camby in Spurs uniform scares me a little too...
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Nuggets' Camby could be on the move
I like Camby too, but he is getting old, and he is only going to want to go to a contending team. I think that is going to be a big kicker here, not so much that Denver needs value in return. Having said that I would love to see Camby in a Pistons uniform. I still like the Camby and Anthony for Billups and Tayshaun trade that has been floated.
Pistons:
PG: Stuckey, ?
SG: Rip, Afflalo
SF: Anthony, McDyess
PF: Maxiell, Amir Johnson
C: Camby, Rasheed

This would still require Dumars to make a second small market trade for another PG
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Market for Okafor might be limited
I like Okafur, he is a solid double-double player night in and night out. However, I don't think that I would like him for 12 million a year unless I was sure that he was going to be a PF and not a C. Meaning atleast 2 C's on the roster in front of him.
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Would Randolph help Pistons?
I wouldn't mind getting Randolph if somehow we pulled off another Chris Webber type of trade. Where the Knicks buy out all his contract and get some bench players and Lindsay Hunter, who just gets cut and comes right back to the Pistons. Otherwise, I don't think that he is the type of player that I would want to trade away my talent for. Plus, why no talk of Jermaine O'Neal or Elton Brand, both of which would be way better options and comparable contract wise.
Posted Monday June 16, 2008, About: Bucks likely to trade a guard
I think that Redd's best days are behind him. However, he still has a few solid seasons left. He is a great player, but he is not going to transform any team. He could be a missing piece for quite a few teams. Cavs, Lakers, Orlando, Phoenix, Hornets. His acquistion by any of these organizations could put them right over the top, provided they don't give up too much to get him. Although, it would be nice to see the Bucks get their head outta their a $ $ es and spend a little money to get an NBA caliber team once this decade.
Posted Tuesday June 10, 2008, About: Blockbuster deal for Pistons, Nuggets?
I actually was very surprised to read this article. Somehow, someway, this trade works for both teams, the players union, and the salary caps. I am a lifer Pistons fan, but I would love to see this trade happen. Unfortunate to involve Tay, but you can't make a blockbuster without some young prospective talent going to to both teams.
As a NBA fan I like it because promotes change in the league. I'm not a Nuggets fan, but I can understand they need to make major changes to compete withe the West right now (even though it looks like the East might have the better team(s?) ). As a Pistons fan I really really like the trade. My only concerns are that bringing in 3 F/C positions still keeps all those minutes away from Max and Amir. I think that if K-Mart could stay healthy he would be one of the biggest bonuses in this trade. His game is well matched in the West, but in the East he could dominate the post against most teams.
