GO GIANTS!!! CONGRATS!
1972 DOLPHINS - STILL THE ONLY PERFECT TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Dolphins also didn't routinely win by 3 points. In fact, only TWICE did the Dolphins win by 3 points or less. I'm not sure where you got that fact from. The Dolphins won 11 games that season by 10 points or more, including a 52-0 win against New England. So, you can say safely say that the Dolphins routinely won by 10 points or more.
Also, it should be noted that the Dolphins had to go on the ROAD for the AFC Championship game against the Steelers. Not a very easy place to play.
If the Patriots win today, I think they are in the same category as the Dolphins. They are the only two teams with perfect seasons. They are from different eras, with different circumstances, and different adversities.
And after watching the game, I don't think anyone can say that with a healthy trio of Rivers, Gates, and LT that the Patriots would have won by 9. SD would likely have converted at least one of those FGs into a TD.
As for Sparano... that offensive line of the Cowboys was awful yesterday. I was happy for the Giants though. They played much harder than the Cowboys. So much for the "Coughlin should have rested his players"' talk!
The real reason he is leaving is because he has no chance of starting next year. Miami has some great recruits coming in (including the #9 QB in the nation from Miami Northwestern). Plus they have "Mr. Football Florida" from 2006 who has been working hard in the offseason. Freeman saw the writing on the wall and that is why he is "jumping ship." In two years the Canes will be back in the national title picture.
