Die Hard Lakers fan's Comments

Posted Friday December 14, 2007, About: Heat looking to trade point guard
The Lakers could have told the Heat that Smush is an ineffective player MOST of the time. Smush can hit the occasional three point shot and penetrate to the rim with authority for a dunk. The problem is he's not consistent and he has POOR defensive skills. Steve Nash used to kill Smush when he was here. While it is true that Nash is a two-time MVP with considerable skills, Derek Fisher at least TRIES to play defense.
Posted Saturday December 08, 2007, About: Riley's private feud with Shaq
Though Shaq is on the decline, he can still be an effective player. 6 touches throughout last night's game is insulting to this LEGEND. Though Shaq can be overly sensitive, and has been mature with Wade (something he NEVER would have done with Kobe), the guy has won alot whereever he plays. 4 NBA titles deserves some respect. I HATED when he left LA, but the Shaq bashing is unfair. People can laugh, but if I were GM of the Lakers, I'd take him back because I know Phil Jackson and the Triangle Offense would use the Diesel properly.

Posted Saturday December 08, 2007, About: Nets to pitch Kidd to 3 teams
I've always felt the Nets made a HUGE mistake in re-signing Vince Carter. He's alot like Dominique Wilkins: very exciting offensively, but brings little else to the table. He doesn't play defense and he is poor in the clutch. The East is still inferior in comparison to the West, and for the Nets to be mediocre is saying something!!! With Andrew Bynum playing so well, there is NO WAY the Lakers will trade him for J-Kidd. Maybe Lamar Odom for Kidd straight up, but I don't think the Lakers have to get give up much to obtain an effective, but aging point guard. I've liked Kidd ever since he was in college at the University of California, but I'm amazed that shooting is STILL his biggest weakness.
Posted Saturday December 08, 2007, About: Kobe puts out maximum effort
Kobe Bryant JUST wants to win....that's all. Best player in the NBA (though LeBron will close the gap with better shooting from the perimeter). And I'm a die-hard Lakers/Kobe fan.
Posted Friday December 07, 2007, About: Riley's private feud with Shaq
Jeff Van Gundy is proving to be a good coach. Riley backstabbed him and look at their respective teams now. Karma is a funny thing...
Posted Friday December 07, 2007, About: Riley's private feud with Shaq
Pat Riley should get a great deal of the brunt of the blame for the Heat struggling since he put the team together. Letting Posey, Kapono and Eddie Jones walk was a big mistake. And Kobe doesn't look so WRONG criticizing Shaq some years back, does he? Wade understands now.
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Heat cooling on Bibby deal?
Lakers fans EVERYWHERE could have saved Pat Riley time, energy and money by telling him Smush Parker is a HORRIBLE point guard. How desperate are the Heat to sign one of our castoffs? The guy pouts and plays -0% defense. Bibby would be a significant upgrade.
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Kitna: Teammates jumping ship
Brett Favre doesn't talk trash and make silly predictions. And he's won a SB and MVP award. Where does Kitna getting off talking as though the Lions are DESTINED to make the playoffs? Win something before you start talking as though you're a perennial contender.
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Another Cowboy targets Kitna
The defense is supposed to stop the offense...NOT make an illegal hit to send a message. I'm not versed on the NFL rule book, but I think I'm correct on this issue.

I omitted the following: it would be asking too much of these immature men to say etc...
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Another Cowboy targets Kitna
Jr #88 fan, you are absolutely right. Be mad at yourself or the coaching staff. I'm okay with a player being a sore loser. Hating to lose can be a good thing. But...understand who is the real culprit responsible for defeat. It wasn't the refs. But they are an easy target. I guess it would be asking these immature men to say "We were undisciplined and it cost us the game". I guess it takes equal time to point the finger at someone else than it does to look in the mirror.

I don't like trash talking because FEW players can back it up. Besides, providing bulletin board material for the opposition is just stupid to me. I admit that players should already be motivated by playing a game they love and being greatly compensated for it, but adding fuel to the fire isn't smart in my book. I reiterate, SHUT UP AND PLAY THE GAME.
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Another Cowboy targets Kitna
I HATE the Dallas Cowboys, but I have to admit they are a VERY good team. Should the Pats and Boys play in the SB, and Dallas wins, I won't make excuses. In MOST cases the BETTER team wins. Making excuses for failure shows a lack of class and respect.
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Another Cowboy targets Kitna
I'm tired of whining in the NFL. Can you hear me, Baltimore Ravens? Maybe if you did less trash-talking and possessed more focus you WOULD have beat the Patriots. The calls weren't bogus. Your team lost composure at the worst time. Man up and accept some friggin responsiblity. And oh yeah...GET OVER IT!!! I hate people who make excuses when they lose!!!!
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Another Cowboy targets Kitna
I don't like the insinuation a dirty hit on an opposing player will occur if the opportunity arises. Having said that, Jon Kitna keeps opening his mouth saying things other than shouting out offensive plays. The ship is sinking as he asserts, but his is responsible for some of the weight of failure that's weighing the Lions down. Sometimes it's best to just SHUT UP and play the game.
Posted Wednesday December 05, 2007, About: Kitna: Teammates jumping ship
Kitna arrogantly said the Giants aren't as good as the Lions. When NY goes to the playoffs and Detroit is at home, what will you say then Jon? Shooting your mouth off BEFORE you've won ANYTHING or clinched a playoff berth is a recipe for embarrassment in my book.
Posted Tuesday November 20, 2007, About: Inside Heat-Shaq squabble
It's amazing that Shaq can accept criticism from D-Wade, but when Kobe questioned his level of commitment, HE was made out to be the villain
Posted Saturday September 08, 2007, About: Jackson rips Lakers owner, son
As a Lakers fan, the skills of Mitch Kupchak does NOT impress me. The Lakers demise from Championship Contender to playoff-pretender can be attributed to one thing: showing JERRY WEST the door.

Jakefen: I enjoyed reading your perspective on this matter.
Posted Saturday September 08, 2007, About: Reynolds: ESPN firing was racial
The fact that injustice and inequality exists DOESN'T mean this is the case in every situation. However, people in society often DISMISS the possibility of racism BEFORE evaluating it. People would rather decry the saturation of persons using the "so-called" race card rather than question IF there is any validity to the claim. That is my point 355mike.
