I mean, I love football, but moralizing like this is ridiculous.
"He is a great quarterback. Get over it."
Plus, it speaks to the fact that Clausen should just stick to cavorting on boats with other guys in Speedos, and should not be the starting QB of a "major" college team.
I mean, as soon as I step away from my "OH YES TAKE THAT **** DOWN" knee-jerk reaction, I think "Isn't it scary prosecutors have the power to just keep cases going and going like this?" I mean, how long did they keep Greg Anderson in jail?
What amuses me about the Republican Party trying to paint themselves as the party of "Joe the Plumber" against the elites is this: isn't someone like Rush Limbaugh definitely "elite" by any standard of the word?
It's a smart play strategy wise, especially if defensive coordinators bite and double and triple cover TO. But in terms of dealing with TO's psyche, I don't know about it.
I mean, he acted so relatively mature (for him) during his contract negotiations earlier this season I thought TO had finally figured out acting like a **** isn't a good strategy for him. I guess he's back to himself, though.
So if it is, it's still a bad play.
Oakland will not be a real franchise until Al Davis retires -- voluntarily or not.
And then came the next day...
I mean, you can say that Boss isn't as good as Shockey, and that's probably true. But the thing is that there's this perception that the Giants stepped up without Shockey, and he refuses to see that that's out there. Maybe that's an education at "The U' at work.

I think it's pretty clear the BCS has been set up to give Notre Dame special consideration, so that if they can pull out a 9 or 10 win season against a really soft schedule, they're in.
Of course, this leads to them getting a beatdown in the BCS, which can't be good for the BCS in the long-term. But that's the BCS for you: short-sighted cash grabs, no thought of the overall health of the game.
It's an issue that needs to be addressed, but I don't think Ochenta Cinco (which is how it should be, Chad) or his **** agent are suitable agents for change.
Besides, I think of the big effects of the whole Patriots taping scandal has been to call into question Weis' reputation as an "offensive genius". (Well, and the atrocious offensive play of ND under him so far doesn't help either.) Maybe it's not so hard to be a "genius" if you know what the defense is calling.
I can see some teams using the opportunity to hold on to more players, and maybe get a free agent or two. And then there's what the Redskins will do: Lil' Danny Snyder will buy up every free agent he can, like a bratty kid begging Daddy for money to finish his football card set. The payroll will balloon to $400 or $500 million, and they'll still finish 6-10 or 7-9.
