No way anyone will convince Hillary or any of the others drunk on Trojan Haterade that Pete Carroll and the USC program had nothing to do with it.

THEY LET THIS GUY ON THE PRACTICE FIELD AND IN THE INDOOR FACILITIES!

The burden is SHOULD HAVE KNOWN about it.
What now - they are all idiots?

Bring on the Sanctions!

Warden - you said it right
Carroll can't develop talent
If you take an objective look at the talent recruited and the graduating product ( I'm talking FOOTBALL here ) USC - not nec. Carol, does not appear to be doing as good of a job as other top schools at developing players.

MARINsur4 - It's
10 National Championships (#1): 1928, 1931, 1932, 1939, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1974, 1978, 2004

I'm still wondering what-why-when did Ultra-conservative-Jimbo become a sure-fire remedy for a sinking ship on fire... Probably a majority of LSU fans were ( and still are ) SMILING about his transfer. He is a good QB coach.
There were too many times in games when the season was on the line, several things were working ( just not running up the gut ) and jimbo would run it up the gut four times and give it to the D. Yea we won some games - but always knew there was something more.

Wasn't it Jim Delany who kicked the dirt and screamed like a little girl " if you start a playoff system I'm going to take my ball and go home!"

Yes - it was. Make up all the B.S. reasons you want for the playoff-plusone idea failing- it's the crybaby BIG-PACs that have caused it......... I guess Id be ashamed of them too - but I would'nt try to blame something else.

4. An 8 team playoff system almost tells teams not to schedule a hard OOC schedule because if you play all easy teams and your conference schedule and go 12-0, you'll most likely get to the playoffs. If you lose a game to a hard team, you stand a much less chance of getting in. I think a playoff system rewards teams who play easy opponents all season and punishes teams who play a hard schedule. |

Something that makes some sense.... But is easily solved by Conference!
Conference membership demands Conference play now, it could easily limit soft games. But it would be difficult to deal with the relative softness of an entire conference ( like the Big10 ) EXCEPT that in a playoff - the team HAS TO PROVE they are worthy by beating other playoff teams before they waltz into ( see OSU ) another N.C. Under a playoff system OSU would have "gotten in" but would they have made it?

Sac20005 |
Thats the whole point of watching the college football season. If a pool of 8 or more teams get involved in a playoff, it will make programs schedule easier schedules and the football season will be much more boring, and rival games will have far less significance. |

OK! the whole point - if you would quit watching YOUR TEAM play a rival because the playoffs aren't on the line then you probably quit watching now if they aren't going to make a bowl game or if the conference title is not on the line and I think you are a "marginal" fan. I would never miss a rivalry, I don't now because there is ALWAYS something on the line. I like watching my team play.

There is no way around it. The prejudicial voting has to go, the teams that are worthy of a shot at the NC and the $$$ deserve a shot at it. And I'm sure the players want it that way too, thats what they play for - to win, they want to win.
Ill bet you'd be hard-pressed to find one that would turn down post-season play towards a NC game for "home for the holidays"!!!!!

Sac20005 | I could summarize Louisiana as a swamp. |
FYI: La. is less than 5% swamp, it is a rarity, and not really common in La.

Sac20005 |
The biggest obstacles in getting that accomplished include: 1.
1. Environment in the post season doesn't get factored in at all, even though every other sport factors in environment into the post season. There needs to be a major bowl in the Midwest just like the Sugar, Orange, Fiesta, and Rose bowl. |

What?
Changing post-season play will be the best opportunity to add a "bowl game" ( AKA quarter-final ) to the midwest.

Sac20005 |
2. The existing bowls don't want to lose their bowls. They make too much money off it. So they have to work a way around a playoff system to get all the bowls their coverage. They also have to include step 1 in this. |
No bowl would have to quit playing - many scenarios have been presented that leave the bowl playing in tact. & BTW: The idea of them being of less importance because they would not be part of the playoffs is BOGUS - they never were.

Sac20005 |
3. The random selection of teams to bowls aren't accurate and don't reflect actual rankings. Example, Hawaii and Illinois jumping teams like Missouri, even though Missouri was ranked higher. |
What ?
The whole idea of a playoff system is to eliminate biasness and inaccuracies from the voting-ranking system. While there will always be teams on the edge who will whine about not getting in..... the more teams in the playoffs the further that whiner will be from #1, and the argument for "being in" becomes paler. Actually - there is no reason why the conference cant "award" alloted playoff spots.

Even if there are only 6-8 spots available?
Posted Monday April 28, 2008, About: BCS leaders consider expansion
Polls show that 70-80 % of the fans want a playoff system. The push will continue until it's done.
I'll never miss the Aub/Ala/Ga/Fla etc. game waiting on a playoff game, Im waiting on App. St, now!

One thing that bothers me though is that you cold-weather homers don't have your own BCS game, You really shouldn't force your boys to go play the pac-ten, quit whining and dig out that booster money we keep hearing about.
Hey - start a Bowl for Michigan and Ohio St. !!!!
What will you call it? The Corn Bowl ?

But if you're worried that your team might earn the chance to avenge it's only regular-season loss in a playoff game..... What are you watching for?
Rivalries are rivalries and I promise you that when SEC-East meets SEC-west it is a HOT game, When they have already played this year the hype gets ramped up, the teams get amped, and IT___IS___ON___!!!!!

Don't have a championship huh? Add that to you list of things to do.

But if you are not going to watch your team play Wisc. because for some silly reason you think it's not relevant due to a play-off system.........I dunno
What about last year? What about next year? What about getting to see your star freshman QB get some playing time? Do you only watch the big games?

Is your loyalty to big-game football or YOUR TEAM?

Everyone should have a fair shot at the N.C. and the $$$ from the playoffs
( er bowls )

You must have the be the guy who made them drop the lowest score possible on the IQ test. I WOULD call you an idiot but that would be several grades above you! Even your fellow-fans are in shock at the senseless dung pouring out of your mouth. Here boy - go find a stat - since YOU brought it up....
Name ONE former OSU QB who is currently a successful NFL QB.

Warden - I watched the game live, and I was very disappointed in the Fla loss.
All I'm saying is it was a game won and lost by 6 points!
Hardly a blow-out!
You missagain fans are talking like Tebow threw 12 ints and left on a stretcher.

Truth is "Tebow is a beast" and Missagain would LOVE to have him on the roster.

Ok Missagain Fans - you won by 6.
Just 6.
According to sportsline.com

The Gators kept it close thanks to plenty of big plays by Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow .
Playing with a broken bone in his non-throwing hand and facing constant blitzes, Tebow was 17-of-33 for 154 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 57 yards and a score

Yea Missagain really buried the guy. MY BAD!
