What?

They offered Brian a decent contract, and he whined like a little b!t ch about it, then quit.
Posted Sunday December 15, 2013, About: Where will Gavin Floyd land?
Another guy with very good stuff and a .10 head.
A waste of a great arm (pre surgery).

Seemed like a good guy, good luck to him in the NL.
Posted Friday November 15, 2013, About: The one untouchable White Sox arm?
$3.5 million in 2014
$6 million in 2015
$9.15 million in 2016
$12 million in 2017.
Chicago also now has a 2018 option for $12.5 million and a 2019 option for $13.5 million.

If he stays healthy, a big IF, goutstanding deal for the W. Sox.
Posted Thursday November 14, 2013, About: Cutler ... expendable?
His career rating is 84.4.
87.1 as a Bear.

So that adds up to a lot of games under 100 and a lot of loses.

That being said, the article is BS. The first Lion game aside, Cutler was having a fantastic season until he got hurt. With a line blocking, two very good receivers and a TE, he gets it done.
McCown isn't going to keep up his pace all year, defenses will figure that out.

"the 49ers have struggled in three matchups against premier teams, scoring a grand total of 19 points over three losses to the Seattle Seahawks, Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers"

Carolina is a "premier" team? Go figure.
Posted Monday November 04, 2013, About: NHL won't suspend Ray Emery for goalie fight
Nice that Holtby's team mates did not come to his defense, says a lot about them.

I am not one to call for the elimination of fighting in the NHL, although it seems that in the playoffs fights very rarely occur, and most people don't really miss it.

But the NHL needs to stop these brawls where 3 or 4 fights occur at once. Stupid and ugly.

Regarding Emery, I guess if I had to leave great team/city and go play for Philly, I might be pissed too. (I guess he didn't have leave, but that money looked pretty tasty.)
Posted Thursday October 31, 2013, About: Jays after Chicago's Beckham
Yikes, I need to proofread before I send.

Marcus Semien was on the W. Sox for a while this year, after winning the Southern League (AA) MVP. Give him a shot, offensively he is likely to be as good as Beckham.

Micah Johnson also had a solid year in the minors, if he has a solid camp maybe they could play him.
Posted Thursday October 31, 2013, About: Jays after Chicago's Beckham
Well, Beckham has never becom the player the W. Sox or their fans hoped he could be. He was a top 10 draft pick and looked really good his first (partial) season with the W. Sox. He does play a very good 2nd base and his offensive numbers were up last year until he got hurt. But if Toronto wants him bad, make the deal.

Posted Tuesday October 29, 2013, About: Konerko's days are numbered
Reinsdorf loves Konerko and they are neighbors in Arizona. It seems surprising that he didn't let Konerko know this was going to happen.
Maybe Reinsdorf has instructed Ken Williams or Rick Hahn to try real hard to trade Dunn.
Short of that, Konerko would appear to be the odd man out.

I don't see Konerko going east coast or even midwest, if for some reason, Arizona, Dodgers, Rangers or Angels showed interest, maybe.

He will be missed.
Posted Monday October 28, 2013, About: Will Red Sox rue trading Jose Iglesias for Jake Peavy?
Not saying anything is "Nuff said"?

Red Sox in the sereis with or without Peavy.

22 year old Avisail Garcia showed he can play ball, likely for a good long time.
Trade looks great for the W. Sox.
Posted Friday October 18, 2013, About: Signing means the end of an era in Chicago
Konerko will be missed He had a great run for the W. Sox. But the time is right for him to move on.

Peter Gammons on the radio as I type this, says this guy is not very athletic.

Slow bat speed, so he wonders if Abreu will be able to hit major league fast balls? (Don't the latin players usually have trouble with breaking pitches?) But he said this guy has tremendous power. For $68M he better do something right.

I guess this means the Sox are stuck with Viciedo in left, I thought they might move him to first.

I am hoping they can acquire a solid upgrade at 3rd and C. They need it to have any chance to compete next year.
Posted Thursday October 17, 2013, About: Brandon Marshall okay with NFL fine for green cleats
In an attempt to raise more money and garner more attention to Mental Health Awareness Week, Marshall decided to auction off his green cleats which, when the bidding concluded last night, were sold for $3,601. The proceeds of the auction will go to the Brandon Marshall Foundation, which is dedicated to "raising awareness for mental illness and help(ing) others gain access to the resources that they need to recover,??? according to the website.

There is a difference between having fun and being an **** clown. Swisher is the latter. Fun while he is hitting and team is winning, sulks when he doesn't hit.
And come playoff time, bat anyone but him.

47 Games
.165 BA
.277 OBP
.575 OPS
185 Plate appearances
8 RBI
13 Extra Base hits

That is putrid

If he is a great athlete and bad at baseball, (ala Kenny Williams) Kenny Williams will sign this guy for lots of money???
Posted Friday October 04, 2013, About: Cubs' Plan B
Both times, (or was it 3 times?) Sandy Alomar Jr. played for the W. Sox, the media raved about how professional and smart he is, and that he would end up being a manager pretty quickly.
I was hoing he would be the W. Sox manager two year ago, instead of Robin "zero coaching experience" Ventura.
Actuall, I am still hoping Alomar Jr. would come manage the 2014 W. Sox.
Posted Friday October 04, 2013, About: Cutler still lacks necessary component
Despite the last two posts, I am really not a Cutler apologist.
But O line has two rookies staring on the right side. Two first year Bears, first year Trestman, on the left side. (Although the left tackle is a former pro bowl player.) And a center, former guard, who is nothing special. I would say the jury is still out on the O line actually being better. Small sample size would say yes.
Marshall is a stud, and Jeffery has talent, they 100% improved at TE, and Forte is outsanding catching out of the backfield, so I would say he has weapons now. Let's see what he can come up with against the Saints, because he was awful against the Lions.
Posted Friday October 04, 2013, About: Cutler still lacks necessary component
Just curious if you could actually produce one of those quotes, from a credible source, that Jay Cutler said.

ESPN: "I think if I play better, it's a different ballgame," he said.

"I felt good about my decision-making," he said. "I just missed the throws."

He's not making excuses there. It's the truth. He missed throws he should've made. But, of course, he needs to make those throws. As the Bears proved the first three weeks, the line between 3-1 and 1-3 is very thin.

Of all the teams in the Galaxy, why would Ford pick the Bears?
It should have been a Fiesta after Sunday's win.
