Oh well...for Ramon's sake he lands with a team that will respect his talents....maybe it's because Ridnour had unsavory pictures of Bucks' management (which would explain why he got the minutes he did)?
The Raps have no choice but to wear out Bosh defending the Howards, Brands, Duncans of the NBA because Rasho can only do it for 15 ish mins a game and a certain Italian "center".....well...
Andrea Bargnani is too soft to play at the 5....and I don't trust that he'll grow into the role with age. To me, he looks and plays like a (poor poor) poor man's version of Dirk Nowitzki.
It's pathetic when a guy 6'11 or whatever feet tall can only grab 3.7 boards in per 24 mins....or shoot only 38.6% from the field...or only block .5 shots per game in his time on the court.
But Andrea managed to do all of that....gees.
If he comes in and does well in the NHL...super...I'll be wrong....blah blah...but enough already.
The NHL does not allow draft choices to change hands as compensation when an employee (coach, GM, VP...whatever) leaves one team for another while the employee is still under contract to his/her former team.
This was allowed before (Michel Bergeron is an example)...but no longer for quite a few years now.
Couple of points:
1) If Thomas's hand/eye co-ordination is so great...why is he having major problems catching up to fastballs? I watched at least 10 games so far this year...it's obvious that he's lost a lot this year....
2) Sure, the Jays are on the hook for Thomas's salary this year....so the decision to dump him really doesn't cost them anything financially right? If Thomas is going to **** and be a bad teammate (which he showed on Saturday would be the case).......I don't care about the validity of his complaint....not material to me....just get rid of the guy if you feel his being a part of the team is detrimental.
Another plus is that it frees up at bats for a guy like Adam Lind (who should be called up shortly after he recovers from a minor current injury) and allows the Jays to be more judicious in how they use Matt Stairs as either a back up for Overbay, the corner OF spots and at DH.
Gees...he had to know he was being parachuted into a train wreck...
I just hope that no matter who wins the Premiership.....that the other club's supporters don't blame injuries....as both clubs have had them this year.
As a Leaf fan, I lament the future of the team.
As a competitor, I wonder why he'd not want a very good shot in Detroit with fellow Swedes (Lidstrom, Holmstrom, Zetterberg etc etc) at a Cup.
That is, unless you are getting a cheap top prosect or two...and you will use the savings elsewhere?
*shrugs*
1. (tie) Yankees fans and Red Sox fans.
I'm not going to say Jeter is the worst defensive SS in the game....but I will speak this truth:
The best defensive shortstop for the Yankees...............
....is their starting third baseman.
*queue the Jeterphiles getting angry*
If Fletcher can just manage to dump the contracts........perhaps save a few mil per season based on what comes back...or even if he just gets mid range draft picks or mid level prospects.....he'll have done more than one could hope for in this situation.
The players in Toronto are a bad fit as a unit.......on other teams they will probably do better.....because more than likely they will be properly insulated (by the system, coach and surrounding players).
The good teams get players that fit the philosophy of the club....Toronto needs to identify a philosphy and stick with it....bring in players that fit the philosophy.....hire scouts/player personel/coaches/hockey staff that fit the philosphy.....draft players that fit the philosophy.
God bless my miserable Leafs.
People just hate.
People will turn a blind eye.
This website proves it.
I'm just saying...if it walks like a duck...talks like a duck....it's a duck. Kobe is guilty of being an ****...I'm a huge Lakers fan and I'm still saying Kobe was guilty of being a poor teammate last year/over the summer.
But, if you are going to slam Kobe for it...slam everyone else doing it when the subject is about them.
I'll be watching! LOL
So you mean the things that MJ got a free pass on (primadonna, limelight lover & public humiliation of teammates like Perdue, Kwame and the list goes on) .... I'm not letting Kobe off the hook.....but I hope you will equally criticize His Airness for the same character traits.
Let's look back at something you said:
"Bryant's play will suffer as has been seen by his somewhat errant shots and fumbling the ball. "
Kobe's seasonal numbers:
45.7% FG--35.2% 3 PT--84.7% FT--28.0 PTS--6.1 REB--5.3 AST--1.9 STL--0.5 BLK--3.4 TO--1.57 AST/TO RATIO
Kobe's last 5 games:
44.6% FG--34.8% 3PT--92.6% FT--28.0 PTS--4.2 REB--6.2 AST--1.6 STL--0.8 BLK--2.8 TO--2.21 AST/TO RATIO
WHAT THE STATS SAY:
- His shooting %'s are roughly what they were before
- The assist to turnover ratio recently is better than before
- The drop in rebounds can be attributed to Odom's increased rebounding & the addition of Gasol's rebounding skill
So can you really say his play has suffered?
No.
*sigh*
