Keep reading and get an education.
I can see you are a student of history, but you get confused by the facts. Gibbs, Walsh, Madden, Noll, Landry, Shula... these coaches did in an era when money was no object and with little or no restrictions. Belichick is doing it in an era of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and salary caps. Could any of these coaches do what Belichick is doing in this era? Maybe. But as an example Joe Gibbs came back and gave it a shot. The Patriots beat the Redskins 52 to nothing.
Contributions to the game? Do you know what the most popular used book is? (Do you even read?) Try Googling "Football Scouting Methods" by Steve Belichick, Bill Belichick's father. People want to buy copies of it because it's one of the few things out there that can offer any clues as to how Bill Belichick is able to loose someone like a Ty Law or Adam Vinatieri every year and replace him with someone just as good at a fraction of the price. Teams are hiring his assistants as head coaches hoping to see some of Belichick's magic rub off. Belichick's most obvious contribution is establishing a system that creates an overwhelming winning team in an era where everything possible has been put into place to create parity. This isn't the 1970's, idiot.
Yes. Chuck Noll won 4 Super Bowls--in a completely different era. Bill Belichick has only one 3--and he's still coaching.
Thank you, Coach Belichick. Since you started coaching the New England Patriots no other team can brag about the success that you have had. Ever. Steelers, Giants, 49ers, Cowboys, Colts, whoever... they don't even come close. If you have any doubts about that, all you have to do is read the posts by all the whankers who are fans of other teams. For all the poor slobs who's self-worth is determined by how well their football team, you've put them on prescription drugs. Watching football is about fun and excitement, and you've given us Patriots fans that in spades. Thank you for that. You can go on coaching my team forever.
Now go unload on the Jets this weekend.
Then there is also Ty Law, who had Peyton Manning's number bigtime, but fell apart pretty much as soon as the Pats cut him. (Moss burned him in the end zone to tie the game in the final seconds last year against the Jets.)
Do you live in a cardboard box? Is it okay to steal where you come from?
An interesting fact: You can't play an Ouija board alone. It doesn't work. You're a perfect case in point. You need to get another person to do the thinking for you before you type anything. You may have broken the record for the greatest number of completely idiotic posts. Keep talking. Maybe one day you'll say something intelligent.
Why are they called the Jets? Because they suck and all that sucking noise coming out of New Jersey sounds like a jet taking off.
Let's see, the Jets select a DT to pay LB in the first round and he gets a total of 13 tackles all season. The story out of New York that they had "won the Super Bowl" when they selected him. The Patriots, on the other hand, use a draft pick they got from San Francisco the year before and pretty much pick a nobody named Jerod Mayo who is not only used to playing the position they needed him to play but ends up getting 128 tackles and the award for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
See, that's why as a Patriots fan I don't worry about your defensive. The Jets are about as smart as you are. I'm also listening to everything you're saying, it just takes me a minute or two to stop laughing.
Let's see, in your world loser=class and winner=bandwagon. Are all your dreams in black and white.
Getting back on topic: good luck finding a QB next year, New York. Cutler would be a good fit since he's a crybaby like your fans.
