Danica Patrck
Jullie Henderson

Nothing much more to say....... Shockey is just all kind of wrong.
He simply has no concept of life other than people kissing his a ss. He honestly has no idea that life in the Packer's org will go on with out him.
Tulsa football?!?!?
Nothing happening over at Valdosta State?
Take Favre with you.
The Packers only obligation is to ....the Packers. The Packers are NOT obligated to wait on Favre hand and foot. Frankly I think they have been pretty patient with his "will I/wont I" act he has been playing for the past 3-4 years.
Brett decided to officially retire a full 6 weeks after the Super Bowl. He is a big boy, he had been considering retirement for a long time and had plenty of time to consider all of the ramifications of that decision.
The Packers duly went through the off-season planning for life without Favre and his hefty hit on the cap. They went through the draft, made and did not make personnel moves based on not having him around anymore. There is an incredible amount of planning and budgeting that goes on in the off-season. That cannot be taken lightly
Suddenly in mid-July Favre changes his mind and at 38 he expects to be welcomed back or released and all is supposed to be forgotten?!?
Hell s no.
I say the Pack should tell Brett and his agent that he has a contract and yes he could come back IF he is fully commited to the Packers.
Brett obviously does not want to come bakc to Green Bay seeing as how he waited this long and has reportedly already asked to be released outright.
Hell s no, they should not just release him.
They should either play him (and he WILL be the starter if he comes back. This back-up talk is already being recinded and was garbage to begin with. Favre gives them the best chance to win, period.). If that happens then fine, he plays another year (maybe) and whatever happens, happens.
Or they trade him for whatever they can get to a team of their choosing (if they can) to a team outside their division, like the Ravens of Chiefs, possibly Tampa Bay. Then all parties move on with their lives.
If Brett whines and says "No way, I am through with the Packers and I refuse to play for the team you traded me to. I want my release outright."
Then the Packers should just smile and say:
"No."
There is no way they should just give in to Favre and get nothing in return. Not to mention have him start for the Bears or the Vikings. They would be monumentally stupid to allow that to happen.
BTW: The reason the Packers could not get Moss last year was because Moss did not WANT to got to Green Bay. Moss is still in his prime, why would he go to a place where he has no idea who the QB will be from year to year. He left Oakland for that very reason. Not to mention that Brady is a better QB (no question, no argument) and the Patriots are a better team.
Again, that is Brett's fault for being coy with his retirement intentions all these years. Why would big time free agents come in just as Favre is bowing out?
In summary, Favre, assuming he is healthy can be a very productive QB for the next several years if he is on a good team (see: Gannon, Rich). He could still be a great QB for the Packers if he wants to. If he does decide to play somewhere else then the Packers should get some players or draft picks in return for being yanked around. They need to look out for themselves.
Does not sound like he wants to. He has known what he is doing all along. He wants to play elsewhere ands he is jamming the Packers to do it.
Brett made his bed and now he has to lie in it......and I do mean lie.
for 51+ plus years, my whole life. I will be a Packer fan long after you forget the cheers at Lambeau. Do not make a joke of our storied franchise. Respect us as much as we have respected you over the years, through all of your personal travails. Love us like we have loved you, If you can't, then prepare to be TRADED!
PACKER FAN FIRST AND ALWAYS!!!!!!!!

-Again, very well put.
After reading what McCarthy has done since the end of last year
calling Favre weekly thru the end of June and Favre could not say
that he was 100% ready to return -- so it is now June and he still
can not say yes to playing -- how long do the Packers wait to get
themsleves ready for the new year?? How about after training camp?? Sound fair. NOT
The problem is the response Favre had to all the speculation early in June was it is all rumor. He contacted Ted Thompson on his phone via textmessage on July 4th at which time Thompson said
I am on vacation I will get back to you next week. Thompson was not allowed to finish his vacation because the Media got its teeth into the stiuation and have over blown everything so badly that everyone looks bad.
The Packers have never never said he would be the backup. Their response was come into camp and we will figure things out -- at this point Aaron Rogers is our quarterback. Favre has not filed the necessary papers with the league to come back yet and why worry
what is happening until it happens.
JABMAK | 07/14/08,
-Well put.
That is simply ridiculous. Farve still has 3 years left on his contract. Seems to me the Pack planned on keeping hiom around....and paying him very handsomly for the privledge.
They have welcomed Brett back. They still own his contract for pete's sake.
Bett does NOT want to be there. HE is the one angling to get out.
Why should the Packers get nothing in return?
Brett made his bed and now he has to lie in it. I do mean lie.
BTW: You never were a Packers fan...just a Favre fan.
Feel free to root for him playing o.k. in Tampa Bay for the next 2-3 years.
Hmmmmm.......
Hmmmmmmm?
Could have happened to any of us.
Sure, go on.....
It does not appear that Brett WANTS to come back to the Packers. He appears to be angling for his release.
Pretty bush-league and weasely thing to do.
There is NO WAY the Packers should "just release" this guy. Get something in return for this mess.
Brett brought all of this on himself.....he can deal with the fallout.

So he can go play for your RIVAL!
You folks should be royally p issed with Favre. Obviously he puts himself above the Packers (and their fans)....where he has a contract.
Favre is being a weasel.
The Packers hold all of the cards here. Favre has a contract with the Pack, he can come back. If he does come back he will be the starter. Don't for a minute believe that Rodgers will beat him out in camp.
However, Favre will have lost a LOT of respect on his team and around the league.
Lets face it, Favre is trying to weasel his way out of his contract and play elswhere, he knew what he was doing.
Why should the Pack just roll over....they are the ones being treated unfairly-not Favre.
Trade his ungrateful, drama-queen behind to the Chiefs oor the Ravens and move on with some draft picks.
Favre could not be behaving any more disrespectfully or hypocritically to the Packer Fans right now.
H ell, he is angling to play for your RIVALS!
Packer Fan, you should be p issed!
They should trade him to a team in the AFC or keep him. There is no way that he should be released.
Why should the Pack wind up with nothing just because #4 changed his mind....again.
WVA, should grow up and move on too. MI is a better job, RR was right to go.
The people of LA don't even want a team. I go there at least twice a quarter.
Nobody cares.
The Dodgers and Lakers have some real fans....but most are mindless bandwagon jumpers.
