Posted Saturday May 17, 2008, About: Brady gives Pats linemen new cars
Classy... B-)

Anyone want to bet that someone on this post is going to give Brady crap about this? Someone is going to twist this into something bad instead of it being a nice jesture from Brady to his front line... just watch and see how accurate my prediction is... some people are just pathetic... they hate and are so blinded by it that that they can't see the forest for the trees... I loathe the Yankees, but if Jeter did this or if Manning (take your pick which) did the same thing I would make positive comments about them... let's see how many Pats haters come out and admit that this was a positive thing...

Any bets?
Posted Saturday May 10, 2008, About: Senator irked at NFL over Spygate stance
Honestly, if this is the biggest thing on the Senator's plate then he needs to find a new job... personally, as a lifelong Pats fan, I could not care less about this "new" revelation... some people don't want to let it die, which means little to nothing to me since I really don't care about their opinions... I wear my Pats jersey proudly... always have and always will... regardless of what Belichick did (which, by the way, I felt that he should have at least have been suspended for... you won't hear me defend him... anyone who thinks that there weren't others though, I have a bridge or two to sell you... *L*) doesn't mean that I will stop supporting my team. I'm not a fair-weather fan, leaving them just because BB did some bone-head things. Hell, I have been a die-hard Red Sox fan for my entire life so if there's someone who knows adversity it's Boston fans... *LOL*... hell, to be honest about it, would any of you fans do any less? I'd like to see someone here comment that they would leave THEIR lifelong team because of something like this

... oh yeah... GO CELTICS!!!!! KEEP KICKING CLEVELAND'S BUTT!!!! B-)
Posted Sunday April 13, 2008, About: Why did Girardi pitch to Manny?
Me DUM DUM, have you ever traveled internationally? Many times when I do I am tired for days... yeah, I'm not in the shape these guys are so some of them are likely not to be that bothered by it... I am definitely sure that there was some impact... a little slower bat or arm speed...

If you're interested here is an article about jet lag... http://www.sleepdisorderchannel.com/jetlag/index.shtml
Posted Sunday April 13, 2008, About: Why did Girardi pitch to Manny?
50yearfan I normally see better comments from you... if I were guessing I'd almost think that you traveled from Boston to Japan to California to Toronto to Boston... *grins*... you know as well as the rest of us that just because one pitcher handles a team one night that it has no impact on the team the following night...

Let's be honest about it, Girardi made a bad call... some managers play by the numbers... some play with their gut... next time he should think more about going with the numbers...

Me DUM DUM, I agree with your comment about just giving the batter first base... it is stupid to require a pitcher to throw four pitches when they want to just give the batter the base... I don't know if there are any instances when there are past balls/wild pitches when an intentional walk is being given, but I doubt that there are enough of them where it would require the pitches to be thrown... it would be better for the pitchers as well, to reduce their pitch count (even though they aren't stressful pitches)... it would also help to speed the game...

Of course all this means is that there is NO WAY MLB will do it... B-p

I wonder... did they write out a check for the $1 or did they did through the couch for loose change?
Posted Saturday April 05, 2008, About: Bengals' Henry 'one man crime wave'?
It's great to see that people are commenting on this issue... Henry's criminal behavior is worse for sports then steroids or cheating (though those are both bad as well, of course) because of the fact that they are larger then just rules set up for playing a sport, but rather the fact that he is breaking the rules of society...

I have found many people hypocritical because they stood up on soapboxes to condemn Clemens, Pettite and/or the Pats but did not raise as much of a fuss a couple of years ago when the Bengals had NINE players arrested... it is good to see that people are getting their priorities straight... bravo!
Posted Wednesday March 19, 2008, About: Hitch in Red Sox Japan trip
I can't believe that anyone can read this article and not have a level of respect for the players sticking up for the non-players... they didn't HAVE to stand up for them, but they did in a sign of unity... if you were one of them I think that you might have respected the fact that the players were threatening to boycott, which I am sure would have caused them to forfeit the game and one would assume 1 games check as well... See, there ARE some good stories in MLB this year... the Yankees playing VT was another great story... these are the types of things that we need more of... it's amazing how people always see the negative in stuff...

Posted Tuesday March 04, 2008, About: Agent: Moss accepted less money
I can't blame Moss for trying to get some additional money after taking less money to come to the Pats and after the record-setting year that he and Brady had... glad to see him return though since his departure would have opened up a HUGE hole that would have been impossible to fill... I am really interested to see who the Pats try and get to fill Stallworth's, Gay's and Samuel's shoes... they don't overpay for players and they would definitely have had to so as to keep those three... I'm sure that they will find the right people to fit into their plans...

JJ222 are you high or something? That was one of the strangest postings I've read in a long time... *L*

I would have to say that at least in the area in which I live (Cincinnati) that Hanky boy is WAY off base from his comments about Red Sox Nation... yes, you can see a significant number of people wearing Yankee's caps, but few of them are true fans (following games and players, etc.)... the Reds are playing both teams this year and guess what? The Red Sox are going to be such a big draw that they made them part of their special "Power Pack" specials... they are the ONLY tickets this year that you can't buy normally... also they have talked about the matchup constantly on the news, which is saying something since the games aren't until June... the Yankees games? Haven't heard a single word about them on the news and there are no specials... tells you a bit about why Hank is so scared that he felt the need to comment to the press, eh?

Spo, I agree completely... I was just waiting for I Got It to do what you just did, which was to gather data and support his position... my arguments were more to do with the fact that he was unwilling (or unable) to support his arguments... I WISH that Mitchell had subpeona power... the fact that there have been, and still continue to be, players who dirty up the greatest sport (my opinion) in the world makes me sick... but equally the fact remains that he, and many others, continue to whine and complain about the poor Yankees being picked on... forgive me if I don't shed any tears for millionaires who were caught with their pants down (sorry about the pun) because it wasn't fair... and I know that isn't what you're saying, but that sure is what he was, and many others, are saying...

Good post!

Vaughn9, any takers that this is as likely to happen as Democrats and Republicans making up and fixing all of America's problems? *LoL*
Posted Monday February 25, 2008, About: Why Patriots can't sign Vilma
And I personally do not see how the Mitchell Report was bad considering how so far a significant number of people (including Pettitte whom I would NEVER have thought of being one who used PEDs) have been proven guilty, either by their own admission or by ample evidence... your argument that it is bad is typical of people who complain about getting caught...

Officer, there are tons of people speeding so why did you stop me?
Your Honor, there are tons of people who steal so why are you putting me in jail?

Sound familiar, eh? Just because they didn't catch everyone your position is that they shouldn't have caught the Yankees players? That type of logic doesn't hold any water whatsoever...

And I'm sorry if my research is making you look bad... I can try and use less logic next time if it makes you feel better... *L*
Posted Monday February 25, 2008, About: Why Patriots can't sign Vilma
I Got It, you do not get it... am I arguing that the Mitchell Report hasn't listed everyone? Nope, I am not stupid... I personally believe that there were a significant number of people juicing from all teams... do I believe Nomar was juicing it? I would say that his history shows a strong likelihood... but without proof all that people can do is suspect something... there is ample proof that the Yankees had a significant number of cheaters on those championship teams... agreed?

You using the SAME flawed logic that people are using to support Belichick (which, by the way, I do not)... so by your reasoning you're saying that the Yankees did not cheat? Or that because others did it that it was OK? I am trying to determine what your position is...

By the way, I do research for a living... if you want to discuss these things at least get some data to support your position...

The Steelers? How about this quote:

Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney said today that the team supports the NFL's response to the "Spygate" case against the New England Patriots and the punishment meted out by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

In a statement released this morning, Rooney said:

"We consider the tapes of our coaching staff during our games against the New England Patriots to be a non-issue. In our opinion, they had no impact on the results of those games.

"The Steelers fully support the manner in which Commissioner Goodell handled the situation and the discipline that he levied against those who violated league rules," the statement said.

"We are confident that the Commissioner has taken appropriate action in his investigation of this matter, and will do so again if new information arises which requires further investigation and or discipline."

I Got It... wherever did you get Tek's name from? Making things up to try and make yourself feel better? Post some kind of link to something that supports your statement or prove yourself full of ****...

I lived in Maine when Mitchell was a Senator... he's a Democrat and I've always been Republican... and with that I can say that I have not know another politician with more integrity... not only the Majority Leader of the Senate, but also helped broker peace in Ireland... it's amazing how people like you (i.e., clueless people who want to inpunge on someone's integrity because they pointed out that your team is full of cheaters) think that just because you say something makes it true... guess what? It doesn't...

And you're obviously clueless if you read my post and thought that I in anyway meant that no Sox players were not on the juice... we just don't have to defend it because we only had losers on the team who were juicing it... you had your A players who were important cogs in their tainted '96, '98-'00 World Steroids... um... Series wins...
Posted Monday February 25, 2008, About: Why Patriots can't sign Vilma
Yes, I am sure that a lot of other teams are really looking for the spotlight to be placed on them... :-p ... we could also say that there is a reason why more coaches, past and present, did not come out and say that what Belichick did completely unbalanced the game... why wouldn't they be doing that? I would think that it would be the bigger question... if Belichick's spying was SO bad then why aren't the people who REALLY know what is going on (vs. people like us who just like to think that we know... *L*) coming out against him?

Makes you think, eh?
Posted Monday February 25, 2008, About: Why Patriots can't sign Vilma
The Jets suck, will continue to suck and whatever they do with Vilma will not change that fact... I am personally looking forward to the Pats pounding them senseless a couple of times next season (and I say "couple" because we know there will not be a third time of the Pats beating them next season because the only way the Jets are seeing the postseason is from the stands)...

Yankeefan... no, you're just in the middle of having to defend FOUR championships because half of your team was juicing it... shouldn't you go and defend your team from that instead of hypocritically attacking the Pats? *LoL*
Posted Monday February 25, 2008, About: Ex-Pat: Spygate quote out of context
Or maybe you should just read into the fact that Ted Johnson, who definitely should have an axe to grind with the Pats because of the way that they treated him (which I agree was completely unfair of them), is saying that the newspapers could be incorrect in their analysis of what he was saying to them... Johnson could easily have stepped back into the spotlight and piled stuff on the Pats, but didn't...

Posted Friday February 22, 2008, About: Moss wants to stay with Brady
50yearfan, plus I can not imagine Moss going to a team with no hope of making the playoffs... there are enough teams out there that are capable of making the playoffs that have cap room for Moss, if he decides to leave the Pats... the thing is all that we can do is speculate... only Moss knows what decision he is going to make... personally I'd like to see him stay, of course...
