The politics at the top of this sport are a joke... sure the politicians increased revenue but that doesn't make it right. Let's look at some of the recent news from the upper echelons of the politcal side of the sport (a) Blatter places bans on altitude that make some South American countries nearly unable to host their own WCQ matches (b) Asian confederation cheif thretens to cut off head of Korean FA (c) the entire Jack Warner reign in CONCACAF (d) Mexican FA cuts off any association with CONMEBOL

bottom line is that the politicians are self-serving clowns.

A lot of schools do do this. Mostly to sell the tickets to the games no one wants to see. Not sure who OSU played in non-conference but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't sell as many seats to those games if they didn't have this policy. That doesn't mean it SHOULD be that way. It'd be ashame if they did have that many seats vacant. The policy is dumb.

It's true Wells had a crap season, but he was solid at back-up here in Houston and I think under Kinnear he can shine as a starter, after Onstad finally retires of course.

As far as LA... why do I have to believe in anything they do? They suck.

Seitz is good btw, he'd also be good.

They won't get rid of Ching, but DeRo would make sense. The midfield depth of this team is redic and Holden, though not as good is much younger and is on the up slope not the plateu of DeRo. As for forwards I think Kamara's on contract for another year but he and Ching will be all they have after Jaqua leaves, Wondolowski had left me wanting several times.

They NEED to get a 'keeper to train under Onstad, Caig has to go. Getting Zach Wells back from DC wouldn't be too expensive.

I think CU is wrong and an Atlanta team would so terribly, putting a stadium in the 'burbs is NOT a good idea no matter the market.
As far as Portland goes, good place for a team and they seem to have a good fan base, but as far as demanding the city/county/state to fork over cash to pay for your stadium based on some heckneyed idea that it is good for the economy is a good way to not get your stadium built. The reason the Dynamo STILL have no stadium is because they're relying on the county to fork over 10 mil. In reality the team owner is going to gain the majority of any profits so why shouldn't he incurr the cost of investment. Average citizens get nothing out of it.

that's easy to say now, wait until the NFL waves buckets of money in your face. Remember T.J. Ford was 110% sure he was coming back and I believe Vince had a similar comment. But then again maybe he just likes thanking God enough for the oppurtunity to be at Texas that he'll stay to do it for 12-14 more games next year.
